The Avan Conglomerate is still allied with the Tsun Empire. We can not and should not break a long standing treaty without the proper paperwork being filed by top brass or a direct attack upon us. Take up any complaints you may have with Avan high command.

The new General of the Avan military wishes to remain neutral in this conflict out of respect to the allies of the Conglomerate.
...for now.
The Tsun Empire may seek revenge for my leaving, but it looks like they have enough on their plate right now.
I will return to writing story whenever my current vacation ends. New material is sorely needed as I've left gaping holes in the narrative as of late.

High Commander Rellek and Huntress Laura Valentine are now missing from Icarian HQ. They were last seen leaving together. Rellek was not stopped because a huntress was with him. Perhaps Valentine is also a traitor to the Tsun Empire. Ex-commander Ryan seems to know more, but he will not talk.

One duel and a few odd minutes later... (I'll flash back to the duel in a future post, just to keep everyone confused)
Rellek stormed through the interrogation room door and straight up to Commander Ryan, who was currently strapped to a chair in the middle of the room. Laura sat off to the side, nervously crossing her legs back and forth. She knew Rellek was the last person who should be performing the interrogation, but he'd pulled rank on anyone who tried to tell him so. She knew this was going to be a disaster. At least she'd managed to convince him to let her sit in on the interrogation.
"You took something from me, Commander." Rellek told the captive commander. "Something I can't replace with cheap metal." he continued, tapping metallic fingers on the table in front of him. "Have you ever felt true pain, Commander?" Rellek asked his prisoner. "Have you ever lost someone close to you?"
"Death to Icari! Death to all of our overlords! To them our lives mean nothing!" The beaten Commander shouted defiantly.
"Well this is a waste of time." Rellek observed, drawing his sword from his belt and raising it above his head. "Your life truly does mean nothing, you murderous filth!"
"Stop!" Laura dashed across the room and tackled him to the floor. She'd known something like this would happen, and she was prepared. She pinned him to the ground, and though he tried to resist at first, she quickly detached his arm with trained finesse, leaving him helpless. It took a moment for him to calm down, but when he did his fight was replaced with sorrow. "He killed my sister, Laura." His eyes began to water. "I know." She replied, her heart aching for him. She knew all to well what it was like to lose the people she cared about. She knew it hurt like hell. She was going through it too. "I know what that's like, and I'm here for you," She told him earnestly, "but if you kill him now, then all those people we lost died for nothing! I won't let that happen!"
The room was silent for what seemed like eternity, but Rellek finally broke the silence. "You're right." Accepting his surrender, Laura climbed off of her commander and helped him to his feet, at which point he immediately embraced her. She always considered herself to be a hugger, so she didn't waste time reciprocating the one armed hug. "You have a good heart, Laura." He told her. "I'm so sorry about this." "It's okay, I understand." Laura replied, trying her best to calm her compromised superior officer.
The moment was interrupted suddenly when jolts of electricity started pumping through her. Her body contracted violently as the shocking current took hold. Her effort to stay upright failing, she couldn't help but collapse to the floor. Above her stood High Commander Rellek, staring sorrowfully down at her with a taser in his hand. "I can only hope you will."

Rellek moved with stoic determination to the interrogation chamber. As he turned around a certain corner, however, he happened to run into Huntress Valentine. Literally. The two of them went sprawling to the floor in front of an older man and a young, proper-looking woman. "Morrow, was it?" Rellek looked up at the old man. "That's right" the old man replied. "You must be Miss Thomson." Rellek turned to look at the younger woman, observing that she wasn't hard to look at. None of the huntresses were. You'd think being attractive was a job requirement here. "Sir?" Thomson gave him a strange look, reminding him of the woman lying awkwardly beneath him. "Oh, Laura, I'm so sorry!" He sputtered, climbing off of the huntress and helping her to her feet, all the while silently cursing himself for falling into this cliche. "Are you alright?" he asked, knowing that this woman gets shot at constantly. A little fall won't hurt her. "Yes I'm fine, Commander" Laura replied, readjusting her hair as Rellek tried his best to dust her off. "Can you prepare the interrogation room for me, Valentine? I can take these two from here." Rellek said to her. "Yes Sir!" Laura vigorously saluted and marched off for the interrogation chamber, while Rellek turned to his new recruit. "I hear you are quite the swordswoman, Miss Thomson. Or should I call you my lady?" Rellek asked her. "I am a noble. That would be proper, sir." Thomson replied. "Very well, my lady. As a swordsman myself, I feel I must challenge you to a friendly duel. What do you say?"

This is where I and whomever has the time and will to help will transfer the narrative that began in the Last Waifu Standing forum game. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day. Most of us will be busy, so I personally don't expect this to go quickly, and neither should you.
I think information on important characters should be added first, though in the event that it gets too long, a separate thread may be advisable.

Looks like War is coming fast. I better finish up this arc before the fighting escalates.
[Debriefing]
Rellek sat alone at his desk, spinning around in his chair and waiting for the next day to come and go. He had become accustomed to being alone while the huntresses were out on assignment. Aside from occasionally running into Beni, he had no one to talk to. He wasn't going to have any pleasant conversations with Lamberti, who he'd somehow managed to go weeks without once seeing him in a shirt. Instead, he kept to himself for company. He could always have a stimulating conversation with himself, he found. Sometimes, he even pretended to have conversations with people who weren't really there, speaking on behalf of both sides. For example, he was just explaining to an invisible Ms. Skyler how important it is that she never eats ice cream under an apple tree. (Non-existent Skyler was about as interested in this conversation as the real one would be.)
Just as fake-Skyler stormed out of the room in frustration, Rellek received a call from real Skyler. He accepted the call immediately. "Skyler, was the mission successful?" He asked without pausing for a second. "This is Verbeck. I mean Huntress Verbeck." her voice came through unexpectedly. "Yes, the mission was successful." "You don't sound happy about it. Where is Skyler?" He asked her another question. "She's alive, but injured. Edwards was there. I mean Sean Razor. He got away again." Rellek frowned. "Any other casualties?" he asked, hoping in vain for the answer to be no. "B and D squad both took heavy casualties once Razor revealed us. Swift chose to go back and finish their jobs on her own, but..." She didn't need to continue. "I see." Rellek's heart sank. Was it worth it? "Tell the others not to mourn her loss. Her sacrifice to destroy that facility saved countless lives, perhaps the whole empire. She should be celebrated as a hero." He told her. "Yes, Sir." She gave an affirmative response, although she didn't seem any happier about it. Even with the undeniable truth of his statement, the losses still ate away at his heart and mind like rot.
"Bring me Mr. Ryan. I have even more reason than before to have a chat with him."

A datapad in one hand, Laura pressed the buzzer beside the door to the High Commander's office. In response to this, she heard faint clattering and a thud as something hit the other side of the door. Hard. "Sir, are you alright?" she asked through the door. "Yes, I'm fine. Come in." Rellek replied from within. She opened the door and stepped inside, noticing the commander's arm on the floor nearby. That must have been what caused the thud. She picked it up and returned it to it's owner at his desk.
"Thank you very much, Miss Valentine." Rellek gave her a warm, friendly smile, reattaching his arm to his shoulder. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?"
She couldn't help but smile back at the pleasantry, despite the news she had to bring. "I found Commander Ryan." Rellek's smile faded at the mention of the heretic, looking as if he'd just tasted something foul.
"Tell me more." He seethed. "He's been hiding out with his army in a military base in Chigaran territory." the huntress reported, laying the datapad with the military base's schematics before him. "It wasn't the hardest place to find him. He probably wants to be found." "Well his position is defensible and our army is in shambles. Perhaps he hopes to bait out an attack." he replied.
Rellek leaned back on his chair and examined the datapad closely. "Alright, here are your orders. Round up the best and brightest of the T-STF and infiltrate the base. I want explosives placed here, here, here, and here." he pointed to key points on the schematic. "Detonate the explosives to destroy his army, but not before capturing Commander Ryan himself. I want you to bring him directly to me. Understand?" Rellek's voice seemed to drip with an unsettling malice. Honestly, she couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He'd been through a lot lately, and she didn't think it was really a great idea to let him anywhere near the traitor. Orders are orders, however.
"Understood, sir." She saluted halfheartedly as she turned to leave the room.

Alright, where are we starting this other thread? Does the Waifu wars plotline also belong under forum games or should we put it in Sunrider General?
It would also allow us to do some editing to make the plot more cohesive later on.

"Commander!" Rellek bolted awake as a giant shirtless man barged into his office with a bouquet of flowers. He'd had a nightmare like this once. "Oh god no." escaped his lips before Lamberti could begin. "Commander you must help me. Luce mia is never around, I need you to give her these flowers for me, so that my beloved will show herself to me!"
"That would be highly inappropriate, Slime. That breaches 7 different articles-" "You must promise me, Commander!" Lamberti interrupted. "No" "You must!" "No" "You must!" "No" "You m-" "Okay fine! just leave them on my desk. Was there anything else?" "Yes Commander, this is from the general." Lamberti placed a datapad on his desk next to the flowers.
"Thank you, Slime. You are dismissed. Go put your shirt on." Rellek waved Lamberti out of the room. The second he was gone Rellek slid the flowers off of his desk and into the trash, and then began reading the datapad.
"Thomson is approved." Rellek spoke to himself. He'd like to test her swordplay himself. "Wait, Skyler is royalty?" He spoke aloud again, suddenly horrified. Now this he had to know about. He locked the datapad in his desk, and arose to go inquire about this himself.

Here's "my" file. The character ceased being "me" a while ago, however, so feel free to write for him as if he were any other character in the story. If we do decide to move this to another thread I will do so.
Name: Nicholas Rellek Nickname: “Rellek” Born: 2060 Age: 28 Nationality: Avan Height: 183cm Weight: Difficult to measure accurately due to the amount of metal in his body. Before his injuries he was on the lighter end of the spectrum. Hair Color: Dark Brown Eye color: Brown Special body characteristics: Cybernetic replacements for his left arm, both legs, a lung and half of his ribs. He has an unusually high injury rate.
Youth: - Grandson to the founder of the Rellek noble line, a war hero from the early waifu wars who is credited to have reintroduced bladed weapons to modern warfare. - Due to an advanced intellect at an early age, Rellek is the youngest graduate from an Avan academy to date, though this seems to have made him impatient when his work does not merit immediate results. - His father was a politician, but his political campaign ended disastrously and his family's nobility was revoked.
Military Career: 2080-2085: Served in the Avan military as a common foot soldier. It is believed that his connection to his father's political scandal kept him from rising through the ranks. 2085-2088: Broke away from the military to found a mercenary company because he "Wanted more action" 2088: His men raided an Icarian supply route, which made him a fugitive not just in the Tsun Empire but in the Ava Conglomerate. He chose to serve us rather than face execution.
Psych profile: Intelligent and empathetic. A brilliant strategist who tries to be a father to his soldiers. Often throws himself in front of danger to protect those around him, which helps contribute to his high injury count. He appears to be very strict when sense impairing substances are concerned, with a strange adherence to certain protocols stereotypical of Avans. His main motivator seems to be loyalty, which is helpful. Loyalty to whom, however, is where the problem arises. I believe that should he feel that the Ava Conglomerate needs him more than we do, he will leave us. With recent events, I recommend that we assign a huntress to watch him at all times. He must not be let out of sight. We should try to come up with a way to make his loyalty to us more permanent. Perhaps we could try to engineer emotional attachment.
Skills: Having only recently joined the Icarian military, he has not taken any tests, therefore I will give a brief description and estimation as to where he would stand. Marksmanship: He is a competent marksman. His training in the Avan military leaves him solidly average among our troops. Physical test: I believe he would score low here. The man is rather lithe, but his augmentations tend to average out his strength. However, I personally saw him overpower a man twice his size, with nothing but sheer willpower I assume, during Harper's attack on HQ. Tactical: In the early part of the Claudian war, men we put under his command had a knack for just not dying, despite their status as "expendable criminals". His outstanding tactics are what lead him to be selected to lead the T-STF, despite being a foreign criminal conscript. I expect He'd score top 10 in this category easily. Maybe even top 5.

Thank you, Somasam. I will not forget this.
Escape?
Rellek frantically threw various objects from around his room into a military issue backpack. He took only a few essentials, a few changes of clothes, a couple weapons, an untouched bottle of vodka he'd received when he first arrived. Okay, maybe they weren't all essentials, but it had sentimental value.
He'd waited until nighttime, as the darkness and lack of waking personnel would be to his advantage, or so he hoped. He stumbled to the door, still not quite used to his newest prosthetics. The door whooshed open and he walked directly into the barrel of a mk 2 rifle. "Going somewhere?" asked the huntress behind the gun, her identity concealed by the huntress mask and built in voice modulator he'd added to their arsenal.
"Huntress, state your name and reasoning behind interrupting your superior officer." High Commander Rellek demanded, hoping to draw suspicion away from himself any way he can. She didn't buy it, however. "Don't try to pull rank on me. That's not how this works." This was bad. "Ironic don't you think? The head of the T-STF is on a T-STF watch list." She continued, the dim hallway lighting reflecting gently off of her black leather suit. Of course he was on a watch list. It was unreasonably optimistic to assume he wasn't on a watch list from day one, much more so now.
Rellek stood speechless. He wouldn't be able to close the distance to her or pull out a weapon before she could get off a shot. Not that he particularly wanted to fight her in the first place for that matter. Now it was probably execution for him, either by military trial or right here right now in this hallway. Rellek's whole body relaxed as he resigned himself to his fate, but as he relaxed, so did the woman across from him.
"Alright, here's the deal." Her tone sounded more sympathetic, even through the voice modulator. "I like you well enough. You turn around and walk back into that office, unpack your things, and I'll keep this little incident between us." After a short pause, Rellek nodded and took a step back into his room, not really in a position to disagree. "Good boy." She said as if he'd just brought her a stick. "If you try to run again, you better hope whoever catches you is as forgiving as I am. Now have a good night, Commander." She said, closing the door in front of him.

Tensions are high in the Tsun Empire. Will it go the way of most historical empires and violently implode, or will it get its act together and eat the whole world for dessert? Figurative barbarians are at the figurative gates. Old alliances are bending dangerously. The right hand either doesn't know what the left is doing or is strangling it.
Somebody bring me my popcorn.

Rellek happened to be in the hallway as Theresa stormed passed him, teary eyed. He hadn't seen her this upset since... the incident. Behind her followed a huge shirtless man shouting rapid... Italian? This was unacceptable. He quickly intervened.
He stepped in front of the man who was probably twice his size, and placed a metal hand on his chest to stop him, nearly slipping off due to some kind of slippy goo. "Eugh, what the hell? You better tell me who you are, where your shirt is, and why you're harassing my subordinate. Pray that I find your answers satisfactory."
"She is luce mia, my bellisima, and you must be Rellek! I am your new assistant!" What did he say? Surely this was a mistake, or some cruel joke. "I was sent by the Supreme General himself. My name is-" "Slime" Rellek interrupted, wiping the disgusting goo from his metal hand off on the side of the man's pants. "Your name is slime now. Your first order is to legally change your name to slime. No, your first order is to find a shirt, then change your name to slime." "But sir-" he began, only to be cut off again. "Shirt!" "Luce mia-" "SHIRT!" he was cut off for the last time. "Go now!" Rellek pointed off away from where Theresa went, and finally the man took the hint to leave.
"I'm going to have a serious talk with Blackhead about this." He seethed under his breath as he returned to his quarters. He considered tracking Skyler down, but figured she needed some space to cool down.
He swung the door to his office open and collapsed on the chair at his desk. It was a long day. They were all long days. He flipped on his computer to compose an angry letter to Blackhead but was greeted by a heart rending notice directly from the Prime Minister instead.

Narrative is God. [2 weeks later]
Rellek wasn't sure how he survived the blast. One second he was discussing the implications of DNA recognition in explosive devices with Soulcorruptor, the next he had more metal in his body than flesh, and his huntresses were pulling him out of the wreckage. The battle was over the moment it had begun. They could not win, so their only choice was to grab as many important living personnel as they could and leave. Too many had to be left behind.
His thoughts were interrupted by a nurse speaking to him. Her words sounded muffled and distant, as he just mindlessly dragged himself out of the hospital bed he'd been rotting in for the past few weeks. The world was silent, the only sound he could hear clearly was the metallic thud of his feet hitting the ground. The sound etched itself into his brain.
He navigated his way down hallway after hallway, passively overhearing concerned murmuring about the sad state of of the new recruits filling our once elite ranks, or some minor border dispute with the Kryskans. He had other more personal concerns, however.
Finally, he arrived at the main T-STF branch of headquarters, where a huntress he recognized as Huntress Montgomery with the confident gusto of a three legged sheep. "Oh hello Commander! It's good to see you well!" she was obviously trying to sound upbeat for his benefit, though as to why, he didn't know or care. He saw no reason to bother with pleasantries, he had orders to give. "You are to inform all squads that they are to abandon all current projects." the High commander ordered her. "The T-STF's only priority now is to find Commander Ryan and bring him to me. Understand?" "Y-yes sir." she stammered nervously, staring at him like she had no idea what to do with what he'd told her. "Why are you still here? Go now." He ordered her again. The harsh tone feeling alien coming from his lips. She didn't waste another moment. "Yes of c-course sir. I'll go right now." She stammered again as she awkwardly turned to run off in the opposite direction.
Rellek sighed and turned towards his office. It's time to get back to work.

Ah, Welcome back, General. I hope my substitute that I threw together was passable. And even though I myself am not entirely aware of who Edwards is, I believe he had a subtle hand in my version as well. I know generally where I want the story to go, and I intend to point it there, but due to flaws in my writing expertise I may end up leaving a lot of it open ended as I skip around the plot line as I please. MrNickUniverse , I feel that way about my writing too. Just remember we're writing a side story for a poll game on a forum for a space waifu game, and no one is being payed to make a masterpiece. Anyone who judges your contribution to the story opens themselves up to being judged, and I'm not keen on people pointing out how awful my writing is. For example, most of my storytelling experience comes from tabletop role playing games, which involve multiple people working together to tell a story, so I end up heavily relying on others like Blackhead to help me tell an interesting story, and then when I'm on my own I feel like my writing gets stale and uninteresting. Expect the beginning of a new chapter tomorrow or the day after. Either I'll pick up where we left off or give us a "two weeks later". I haven't decided yet. By the way, the waifu wars would be a great scenario for a paradox game. A mod perhaps? I know there was one guy trying to make a sunrider stellaris mod, I think this narrative would work quite well for something similar.
