Never thought I'd see the day Icari would dip below 1k.
Crap, I was busy working on stuff today, was going to try to make a quick sketch of Ava and the Blue-haired-one working together or something. In matching uniform, of course. Speaking of which, I am hoping in the next installment we get to see more Alliance officers/outfits. We've seen two from Cera: Kayto and Ava; with the Ceran Officers uniform on them and on the Liaison Officer, as well as the normal sailor/servicemen/pilot uniform the other girls wear (not sure which rank gets the silly sailor outfit). We've seen four from the PACT: 3 veniczars and an Admiral (forget her name). While only one representative in both story and outfit for the Alliance: the big man Grey himself. I for one would be interested to see our staircase dressed up in Alliance livery, though if she gets marked for treason that might be a bit unlikely...
At first I wasn't sure about the idea of combining into one massive Union, on the grounds of fair play for our Ryuvian allies. But upon hearing the proposal of a union between all 4 sides, I might have to reconsider. We may one day achieve harmony between all four nations. before the fire nation attacks.

No prob, jack.
For one glorious moment there Icari and the Lieutenant were at the exact same score. Only thought it was going to happen once, at the very beginning of the game. But as a wise Alchemist once said: "Everything that happens once can never happen again. But everything that happens twice will surely happen a third time."
And to Rellek, I'm sure it could be arranged. Ignoring the rather rash decision the Alliance made to space-nuke your entire planet, of course. And yeah, they both seem to work well together as officers on the Sunrider. Plus, Ava used to be my main girl, before the blue-haired-one won me over in LibDay. Glad you liked my little short story there. Been needing a reason to write more recently in preparation for classes next fall. Also wanted to cover a bit of the Ocean side of the war, since Navies are always fun.

The sky thundered as if Poseidon and Zeus themselves were at war. But this was not the war of the gods. No. This was the war of men and women.
Rear Admiral Maso watched with cold, unflinching analysis as the twin Dreadnoughts plowed through the hostile seas. The Sharr'Lac with its large, oversized cannons; and the Oakrun, covered in more guns and rockets than in armor. With each volley, the broadsides of both ships would issue a roar of thunder as hellfire spewed from their barrels. Mere moments later, plumes of dust and ash would rise from the craters that now decorated the entire Tsun Empire's coastline.
The Alliance's own flagship, the Machiavelli, was constantly jostled by the shear wake of the two Ryuvian Dreadnoughts as it covered their aft. The twin Ryuvian navies formed the entire vanguard of the combined fleet, pushing forward unabated as their heavy hitters continued to demolish inland infrastructure. Meanwhile Avan aircraft soared overhead, providing radar coverage and protection from sudden aerial strikes. The Avan flagship carrier, the Crescentia, had even greater reach than the massive guns of the dreadnoughts; able to support and destroy its targets from hundreds of leagues away.
The Admiral clutched his fists in frustration as he returned to the bridge to adjust the fleet's heading. The Alliance was doing all it could; primarily logistical support and using its multitude of destroyers to protect the combined fleet from submarine harassment. But even then, what was a hand full of cruisers, destroyers, and a battleship going to do? When all other sides seemed to have weapons and ships of untold caliber. He felt helpless. Despite the multitude of international support they had received in recent months and the swelling size of the Alliance navy; Maso felt more uneasy now than he'd ever been.
With each passing day, the Tsun empire fell more and more to the wayside. Perhaps another year or so of combined strikes from the remaining nations of the world, and the largest threat to human rights would be placated. But then what? Would the Solans, Ryuvians, and Avans all decommission their greatest accomplishments in engineering? Would they just turn down the hundreds of thousands of volunteers aching with bloodlust and baying for the front lines? Would a world that had only known war for the past decade be able to suddenly stop all of its transgressions and completely demilitarize?
The Admiral thought not. The ball had started rolling ages ago; and now it was so far along that only one thing could stop it now. A complete and total lack of opposition; through means of elimination exclusively.
Maso studied the dreadnoughts again as they continued their reign of death. After months of covering the behemoths, he had finally started to understand their individual quirks. Their firing arcs, their firing rates, their fleet coordination. The chinks in their armor.
He couldn't be the one to fire the first shot; it was against everything the Alliance stood for. But he'd be damned if he wasn't ready for when the shit really started hitting the fan.

First typo I found when I looked for them was in the CD recording of the talkshow interview of Mariya. Right after Okuda Shiro speaks.
[Line 4031]
Original: "Even back then, she was one Quasar's poster girls."
Correction: "Even back then, she was one of Quasar's poster girls."

I did not see a place to list Typos for the new public beta. I put it in the Discussion board for all to contribute, since its more of a script issue than a code issue.
Also, if these is a way to look at what specific line a piece of dialog is stored in, knowing how to access that would be a good way to help Samu correct the typos faster.
By the nature of this discussion, most of the text taken from the game, or its context, could be considered spoilers.

Course Shotgun-Magpie had to ruin the nice numbers. Now that even Ava's overcome Kryska in points, I fear this is more of a grand, final hurrah for the Alliance.
Question for the rules of the game: Could a team pull out of the war and simply forfeit their rank? IE, as basically the sole representative of the Alliance and the spearhead for the blue-haired-one's forces, could I withdraw her from the competition to prevent unneeded bloodshed and destruction of infrastructure on Alliance homeworlds? Between Ava's natural popularity and the Ryuvian federation, politicians are starting to wonder what this war will serve for us after the galactic threat that is the Empire of the Rising Tsun is placated.

Go back to 1994 Sola, your memes are outdated. Hey now, magpie. You can't dog on a classic like that. It ages like fine wine! SHITEPOST ART: Also, fuck hands. Just wondering, should I keep the pictures in spoilers? I don't know how many people actually read most of the posts on here that carefully or not (other than making sure no one fucks with the numbers, my bad btw), so I'm not sure if these are being overlooked. But I also really don't want to take up a huge amount of space with large pictures, either.

Derped out, spent too long playing Age of Empires 2 to remember to vote yesterday (by an hour of course). Only 1 vote this weekend I suppose.
X.O. Commander Ava Crescentia: 1083 Chief of Air Group, Sharr Asaga di Ryuvia: 1359 Chief Engineer Chigara Ashada: Eliminated Pirate Queen Wannabe Cossete Cosmos: Eliminated Chief of Security Icari Isidolde: 1405 (-5) Chief Medical Officer Claude Triello: Eliminated Alliance Liaison Officer, Lieutenant Stares: 1057 (+3) Sola di Ryuvia, Sharr of Ryuvia: 1340
I actually appreciate that post, Serf. I'd forgotten some of the official titles and jobs the girls had. I always liked thinking of them in a professional setting.
Though is Asaga the CAG or the Wing Commander? I think I also remember reading in woolieshamber's she had another variation, started with an F I think. Mainly she's the leader of the Sunrider's wing of Ryders while in flight and through seniority I believe. I wonder what some of the wing's private radio chatter is like. What they bicker about in flight when Kayto's wrapped up in stratagizing the entire battle.
Who do you think pulls rank for the wing? Asaga is first of course, and I think woolie made Icari the second-in-command when Asaga gave into Cullen's demands. The Lieutenant seems to pick up more of Ava's slack when she's out of commission; so she is in kind of a weird spot between leadership of the wing, and for the sunrider itself. Sola would probably come next. And its a toss up between Claude and Chigara of who'd be the wing leader failing that. Neither are good in leadership positions, and I suppose by the point you've lost your entire offensive part of the wing, its already gone FUBAR.

Curses, was trying to get this post at the top of one of the pages, but I guess that's what I get for being lazy and busy with stuff like life. Got around to starting and finishing the line art for my fanart of Asaga, to solidify the Alliance's ties to their long term friends the Ryuvians not to make up for the fact that we stole Far Port from you and helped reduce you to the vestigial empire you are today. Full color is going to have to wait till I can get my proper computer unpacked and I actually learn how to digitally colorize... Might want to get a tablet too... ART: Asaga was never my favorite ("I'm the hero!~") but she has definitely grown on me over time. LibDay I felt did a really good job on expanding her character and deconstructing her hero complex. While its still hard to compete with the rest of the cast, I'd have to say she has definitely improved over time. Since there isn't any good references for Ryuvian formal wear, I decided to just put Asaga in her father's emperor garb. I wanted to give her a slightly more mature look, and a bit more solemn with her undesired position of ruling an entire people. That kind of job puts a lot of stress on people. I was almost tempted to let her hair down, or have it flowing in the back, but I figured it would've been pretty hard for people to recognize her when I changed almost everything about her design... When its colored though it will hopefully be a lot more apparent. Fun final fact: the only side profile image of Asaga's head I could get was from an H scene. Everything else is either dead-forward or cheating-out. So that's why the sidetails probably look completely borked. Side note: I'll probably try to get some other characters done if the digital art side takes a bit longer to do. Might go in order, might pick completely at random. We'll see. It'll probably depend on if I can get a good idea going for a drawing, and the motivation to do it.
