I have to admit that I never got really hyped over a game's release so far, so this entire feeling is kind of new to me. Also the times where I spent the whole night gaming are long over (Y'know, this lady isn't in her twenties anymore, as sad as that is) ... With Liberation Day however it's different - I really, really want to know how the story goes further. I think I'm really, really hyped, and so I took a day off - the scene probably is worth a laugh though, so ... (The company where I work in is very small, only 8 people, so it's a pretty familiar atmosphere.) Me: "Hey boss, next Friday I'm taking a day off." Coworker1: "Are you meeting someone, Ela?" Me: "Well, I'm having a date with two dimensional boys and girls." Complete silence ensues.
Coworker2: (after a bit of pause) "So, what game will be released?" After that I tried to advertise the game for a bit, but as my coworkers are usually only interested in "casual facebook games" I doubt anyone will take a peek at it. And with that I'll stop attentionwhoring. I just found it kinda funny, so I thought I'd share it. Edit: Dang, I thought I had posted it into the "Other Discussion" forum! :/

Haha I wouldn't worry too much about the sections Mirilene, personally I would say this is in the right place as is it about launch day. Sadly I haven't been able to get the day off as work want to keep me on site for a few projects (the start of the year is usually quite busy for us). Remember to send Sunrider rations to me so I don't forget what it looks or plays like. Your office sounds quite similar to ours, we used to be a force of 20 and we're all quite closely knitted - It sort of still feels like this despite the company merging with another and the work force shooting up in numbers which is nice. When I book time off for conventions I usually get a few awkward silences or little mocks at what I will be doing there, my favourite was the Head of IT saying: 'are you going as one of those guys who dresses up as a girl'. xD Even though I will miss most of it, I am hoping that LiS will do some form of launch party or gimmick on release day to generate those hype levels.

I guess I'm good as technically Friday and Saturday are weekends for me. Assuming I don't get urgent lab samples, I should have those couple of days to myself. Nemjen It's sad that society still sometimes assigns a certain stigma over a person's individual tastes and likes. I'm the only one who games in my department so I can kinda relate a little to that, in terms of how people perceive you, even if I know it's not the same case.

Nemjen It's sad that society still sometimes assigns a certain stigma over a person's individual tastes and likes. I'm the only one who games in my department so I can kinda relate a little to that, in terms of how people perceive you, even if I know it's not the same case. Sadly it is something that happens no matter where you go, usually when people don't understand something they will joke about it to make sense of it or develop a misunderstanding that can snowball when they themselves talk about it. For me I'm quite a sarcastic and positive individual so they rarely graze me, but for other personality types it can be quite hard and lead to them keeping quiet on the topic. Something I miss was when I used to play a lot of Dota 2 and the senior developers all played League of Legends which lead to some brilliant moments where managers brought up concerns that it looked like support and the dev team were at war. In reality we were comparing patch logs between the two games and getting quite excited while discussing them. Again they did not really understand and misunderstood what was a generally harmless set of conversations, it's not really the best example but I was talking about it earlier so it sprung to mind. worstwaifu - I want your job, it sounds like it would be right up my street.

worstwaifu - I want your job, it sounds like it would be right up my street. No internet there (can't figure out the network name or the password, and not enough employees around to cajole/glean the password off of them) or else I'd recommend it.

You honor us I bet you're eagerly waiting to get the release out of the way so you can treat yourself to a break aye? I promise to resist the urge to flag stuff to you during this time. worstwaifu - I want your job, it sounds like it would be right up my street. I got a dataplan on my phone for this very reason, it is just too useful a tool for both work and recreational purposes.

Well, luckily I have that day free too, My second semester is quite lenient compared to the first one. And it luckily seems like somehow I will end my 12.4 full playthrough just in time. Be late in one thing to be early in another, they say!

I'm currently in-between semesters, some exams here and there but nothing major. The bigger problem is my screwed up sleep schedule, you know things are going downhill when you go to bed at 10 AM... I'm simply not made for this student lifestyle... It's 11;45 PM now, some roommates started partying at 2 PM and invited, I quote "A few friends."
So yes... these guys and girls are drunk as hell by now, and I'm the only sober human being in this house. They have done a good job from keeping me from work so far... It's loud as fuck... I can't even take a piss because some freaking dude is chilling in the bathtub (only wearing a shirt)...I don't know what they've done in the bathroom, but the whole floor is wet. We have basically no real food in the fridge, only onions, rock hard bread, some beans, aaaand tons of beer. So yeah... seems like I have to go out and buy something tonight, I'm not looking forward to that since it's super cold in Germany right now.
Other than that I've been asked to house a person in my room until friday. Nobody bothered telling me in advance, but apparently she's from Stuttgart and a friend of one of my roommates. +(insert random bullshit excuse.) She'll provisionally sleep on a matress, which has been put on top of some empty beer crates. Looks really comfortable... She's been here for not even a day, puked twice, one time in the kitchen, one time in my room on my sports bag. Had to skip gym today because of that twat. Yeah! Seems like a great start to a beautiful friendship, don't you think?
Just a little slice of life with the things I'm put up with here... So yes, if I find some sleep, I will probably be able to play it on release. Hopefully.

*Hugs Blackhead* "I know your pain. Went through something similar during the last month of my Master Thesis... Party, drunkards and unconscious/puking girls from all around the globe while I was trying to get some work done or simply rest. ".
There will be and end to it, so don't worry.
Back to thr topic at hand: I won't be taking a free day from work, but then again due to the time difference , it's very likely the game will be released a couple of hours after I arrive at home from work.
I-it's not like I prepared everything to do a full playthrough in one session because I'm hyped or anything.... The canned energy drinks, strategy guides, and excell sheets with the hit and dmg formulas were already there when I arrived!
And I did not, b-by any means, make any space prawn offerings to our righteous the space whale overlords to ensure the release goes on nicely.
No way I ever did that..much less multiple times.

Ah that's a point the time difference, I guess as the release will more than likely be done in Pacific Time it will be -8 hours for here in the UK.
Maybe I can join in the end of the celebrations as long as I find a good way to skiv this week's work social. Just noticed that Steam says the 5th for my region so it looks like I am safe. Bring on Saturday.
