How many do yous think you could fit without the life support failing?
The scenario being the ship has to evacuate as many civilians as it can, the ship has alot of space but that's not the real issue here. Does anyone have any rough ideas on the numbers? Given the crew of 50 [400 or so if you go by the book] it might only be a small number but could be more?

This is an incredibly complex question, unless you are Samu and already have a canon amount in mind. In reality, you should probably just come up with a number and have the Paperwork fairy shout "The Sunrider can only give life support for "#" people at a time, Captain."
Now if you want long, drawn-out specifics in the name of immersion, here are my opinions and accompanying reasons. Despite what you said, I believe space onboard the sunrider would actually be one of the biggest problems. For life support: Oxygen can easily be stored in liquid form, which would last a long time unless destroyed in combat; Co2 can be filtered out of the air, and those filters can be replaced more rapidly to counteract the increased stress on the system. Water can be recycled, and given the size of the Sunrider I am positive they have water reclamation. When you boil it down, the biggest issues in moving large amounts of beings in space are: food, space, and the ability to transfer the people from the surface. I highly doubt the Sunrider is rated for atmosphere, except in cases of "emergency landings." If it is, then Samu is sprinkling on a little extra anime magic. As for food, this would only be an issue if safety is weeks away.

The crew size in Liberation Day is 600 heads with a maximum capacity of 2000 if we go by the Liberation Day art book. In terms of how this reflects on life support systems I'm not sure sorry.

Those are some good solid numbers i've just been going off the wiki / in game chatter thank you! Really wish i knew about these art books before now haha oh well there's always the next one ------------ Nov 1, 2017 3:34:12 GMT kalwinters said: This is an incredibly complex question, unless you are Samu and already have a canon amount in mind. As for food, this would only be an issue if safety is weeks away. I'd argue space is probably the smallest issue with the ship in terms of how many people you could shove on, I mean just look at all the empty space i.imgur.com/CyR9Za2.jpgi.imgur.com/2bnIIRN.jpgi.imgur.com/xrZv2f4.jpgi.imgur.com/sNfa8L4.jpgEven the hallways are massive, i'd say maybe 4 meters by 4 meters? [massive enough to fit a hunter killer drone comfortably enough] i.imgur.com/nxZ353W.jpgi.imgur.com/699fvsc.jpgSo in an absolute pinch you could [potentially] fill up the empty spaces just with food / supplies or people depending how long you plan on holding them. You could probably fit 12+ people into one of these crew quarters [if you take out the table and chairs], even more into the captains room, get rid of the sofas from the first officers room and you might fit 20 or so people, the observation deck could be turned into a bedroom and you could easily fit 2 or even 4 sleeping bags in each escape pod. It wouldn't be comfortable but it's better then nothing, hell you could probably use parts of the hanger as short term accommodation just set up some tents [though this would be a horrible idea] Sunriders a great ship and as cool looking as a hero ship should be but it is quite wastefull on space [not that it really matters at all haha] [i'm not sure how to multi quote or if i've done that right... sorry]

Well I won't argue with you that the Sunrider does waste a bunch of space. Here's an actual bunk room on a navy ship. I guess I'm not thinking in the same scale that you are. I was thinking that if you were trying to evacuate millions of people before they get nuked by PACT, only 2000 at a time wouldn't be that much. The Sunrider would be perfect to evacuate a station, however.
