Thanks for the update, we believe we have identified an issue with some of the permissions on the files. A new build with this corrected is just being compiled and should be uploaded fairly soon.
Once this happens there should be an email that will go out from Denpasoft which notifies you that a new version is available, I'll also drop a message here once I've heard that has happened (just in case it ends up in a spam folder or delayed) and then we can take things from there.
Be warned, elements of this post may have been influenced by my 'West Country Logic'.
I briefly tried the new update denpasoft sent out. After downloading and unzipping the download, I got error message-" '%@' can’t be found." when I tried to boot up the application.
When trying to unzip with Dr. Unarchiver, I got the error message "Could not extract the file "Starnova100-mac/ShiningSongStarnova.app/Contents/Resources/autorun/game/data.rpa" from the archive "Starnova100-mac.zip": The file could not be opened" This message does not show up when unzipping with the default unzip program.
All right. So, it has been a few days. When I attempted to boot up the game and got the prior error message a few days ago, I had put the application in the trash, but had not emptied the bin. Today, I was getting impatient waiting for a response, so I pulled the game idly out of the bin just to try to open the application again. When attempting to open the game, nothing would load, but I did not get the error message. For that reason, I forced my mac to reload the game, and it actually booted up to the main menu. I closed the game, and opened it again just to see if it would work again. It did. While I am not certain if anything beyond works as it is currently too late to start playing, it does appear to be working now. I'll post another message later to say if it continues to work.
Apologies for going silence, I've been on holiday for the last couple of days and my cellular signal hasn't been great.
We've been having difficulty replicating your issue following the fix that was deployed although it sounds like you've found quite an unusual way to get it to start regardless. Let us know if you get any additional exception messages and we'll look into them further.
All right. Just a quick update. Things seem to be working as intended from my end now. As of right now, I have played through the section included in the demo and part of the second chapter without any further incident.
