Just curious. I never went on the old forums, but what were the average sample sizes for the waifu wars votes on there? The official ones, I suppose.
We only have 23 votes, and to be honest that seems kind of small all things considered. Do most of the forum goers prefer to stay on the old ones? I'd like to see what a more all encompassing vote would look like.
Is Samu able to look at people's data and determine which girl they choose? Does he have access to that kind of data from consumers?

I'd like to see what a more all encompassing vote would look like. I think its safe to say that as the forum is still quite new and the 'Hyperspace' forum was shared between different games (a total of 1742 members) it was quite easy to attract people as an audience sample. Saying that only 23/131 members on this forum have voted so far which is a shame as I am sure if everyone gave their vote we would have quite a nice sample/range of results.

Results are closer than I thought. Back on the old forums, people's preference used to be quite obvious. I seriously doubt Samu-kun is going to give us actual routes for any of the current top 3. But well if it doesn't happen, as Vaen put it: there's always the modding scene. 'Tears of Ava' anyone?

'Tears of Ava' anyone? Like I told you before before, I'm always ready to heed the call! We'll have an Ava route!... It just will be too hard for anyone to complete (of course, only captain and above will be allowed to reach a good ending, absurd flak degradation like in 4.0, Ryders will again move and act on the same turn they appear from carriers, specially made reinforcements waves, more escort missions; you know, so that Drath finds it hard enough on Admiral)

Alas poor Chigara You used to be so popular... Still, the important thing is that Ava and Sola are rightfully ahead of the inexplicably popular Ms. Fanservice with exactly two points of appeal. /me ducks and runs

As for difficulty, well you've played my puzzlemod so you should know I'm not in the habit of making trivial challenges. Pain builds character! That said, I'll probably tone it down a notch for future mods, as it would be nice to have an audience of more than 1 Alas poor Chigara You used to be so popular... Besides she got shot this time round... poor thing... I mean c'mon... have a heart... now she's never ever going to have a chance of winning a poll, or getting her backstory completed

Still, the important thing is that Ava and Sola are rightfully ahead of the inexplicably popular Ms. Fanservice with exactly two points of appeal. Oh, that is because I am now checking paperwork at the door of the forum to make sure we get only the best voters. Arstotzka greatest country in world!

Claude is now top tier? How the times change. Where justice failed, perhaps busty comic relief will succeed.

Times have changed quite a bit. I remember back when Chigara used to do much much better, as in pretty much win out over everyone else. Claude winning so many votes has also been a big change. As I always did on the other forum my vote goes to Sola.

Well, it all makes sense with the last betas. Chigara also seemingly had a lot of popularity with people of the old forums which oddly has not moved here (I suppose that forum was more "anime" and this one slightly more sci-fi?). I have to say I'm glad with the three first though (I would want a bit more Icari or Kryska, but alas, the best three can only be three after all).

I don't know if this is the case for anyone else but aside from her being too "Dere" for me my main problem with Chigara thus far *at least in MoA* is the bit of the Serana effect she has going on. I'm sure her being front and center is important to the developing story, they probably wouldn't have singled a waifu out like that otherwise.
But it can cause some resentment. "My waifu is just as good if not better" and all that. Should this or future installments allow a choice of waifus I know my personal opinion of her will improve considerably.
Which is sounds rather more petty than I thought it would. Huh.

Seems like I've been wrong so far. Eva only 3rd place, never saw that coming. Sola is leading and that's not that surprising actually. Going by the polls we had on the old forums I would have probably put my money on Eva, then Sola #2 to win. But I have no idea how Claude is second atm. Eiter voter's preferences shifted 180 degrees, or we have bunch of trolls voting now. Maybe someone can explain it to me, but I certainly never understood her appeal. If I had to rate all the waifus, she'd be last behind Chigara... with a large gap between both of them. And that's telling something.

And that's telling something. She's fun. Virtually no backstory but fun. Besides her utility abilities are super useful, and so much of Sunrider's story gets so very dark. Comic relief is welcome in situations like that.

After 20+ years Ayanami expies are still going strong, huh.
Though, Sola probably has more character development than NGE-Ayanami and a bit less than RoE-Ayanami (1.0 + 2.0) ... Just my 2 cent though, might be wrong.

Sola's popularity dates all the way back to the Kickstarter if I'm not mistaken. Same with Ava.

Comic relief is welcome in situations like that. I can see your point there. If I was going purely by "Would I want to romance her?" terms she would rank extremely low since there isn't much to draw me to her story or otherwise, I am most drawn to Sola, Asaga, and Ava if we go by that. But as comic relief she is hilarious and fun to see. Chigara on the other hand... Well I wouldn't mind if we are railroaded into a romance with her that there is an option to stay friends/completely platonic. I think it suits things better at times. But I do agree that may build up resentment because of it... good God are we becoming Asaga?

She's in the perfect position to do the most physical and emotional damage should something go awry. But I guess we'll find out on Friday. But if Chigara ends up being a traitor I freaking called it.

About Claude, well, I think it's a combination of things. First, in the last Beta she finally has a fairly cool part (not saying more due to spoilers).
Second, is, well, sometimes people don't want somebody with whom to have to think constantly about family, bakery, military, etc and just wish to have fun with them. And if there is something Claude is, it's fun, both with and without second meanings.
Third is a combination of more "meta" things, from the fact that she has seemingly stolen "the one with blue hair's" spot as the most forgotten one (and that always has an effect, as shown with Kryska herself), that she is very useful on the gameplay side (and there are some missions where the game reminds you of it), and, well, that her design is pretty mainstream but at the same time it's hard to go wrong with long straight pink hair and big boobies.

Yeah, going off of what Marx said, once you play the full game after the 4th, a lot of you will probably see what happens and why a lot of people are throwing Claude a bone here. Also, her powers are very, very fun and useful in game.
Of course I still think its partially due to having such a small sample size, not even 40 votes yet. Samu will probably make a post on the forums with an official poll and announce it so more people will probably find that one more readily.
If anything, I actually hope that she makes an appearance in a bonus slide like previous winners/runner ups of waifu wars, and perhaps finally drops a plot hook or some little bit of backstory to her. That or she will probably ask if she can get into the captains pants now.

good for nothing but fan service, they say ;,( (and yet, so little -actual- fan service provided compared to the rest of the cast) well, if nothing else having finally seen the full version of LibDay I just feel it's only right to see her off with a full salute as she wanders off into the sunset.

That actually is a pretty damn good point. Not counting Sunrider Academy Spin off, Claude and Sola are the only two girls who have not had any remotely fan-servicey encounters or CGs. (besides the part with Claude taking off the captains pants, but that was all just in text.) Asaga was the first with a shower scene in First Arrival, next Ava with Kayto's flashback to their childhood at the end of MoA, then Icari and Kryska had a shower scene at the beginning of Libday, and finally chigara with both her sex scene and 'mind merge' at the end of libday Then there is Cosette. But from what I've read, I seem to be in the minority of people who've even let her live to see the insides of the ship's brig for all eternity.

I plan on keeping Cosette alive, not so much because of potential waifu-ing but because I think the galaxy is more interesting with her in it.
