Got around to playing through Chapter 2 finally. Noticed an inconsistency with the date stamp. It shows July 21 2017 during the Idol Grand Prix scene... Then "3 days later" Shows August 13 2017. Probably just an oversight.

Thanks again, for the quick responses. Sorry if I inadvertently created a redundant thread, since this issue does seem to be the exact issue that other thread reported. I am running Windows 10 with a wireless Xbox one controller (with usb wireless receiver). For future reference though

The original saves were in 0.1 yes before I deleted everything.
However, I figured out what my issue is. If I hit the start button on gamepad, to enter the save menu then save... When I exit it doesn't show any dialog or allow me to progress any further, and if I hit the start button again (only button usable at this point) it creates a traceback.
The issue seems to be tied to only using the gamepad (xinput/xbox one controller).
I was able to save using my mouse instead, using the menu icon in the top left, just fine without any tracebacks.
Guess its more or less gamepad support issue. But this was the latest traceback anyway. I had deleted the renpy folder, deleted all game folders, and did a pc reboot and fresh install/extract just to be safe. Jumped to Nemu's route and tried to save and still got the same errors, which is when I realized its just the gamepad creating the issue after saving using my mouse instead.
Latest Traceback
I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

Everytime I save and it comes out of the menu, the character dialog is gone, and if I press anything I get a tracelog... I can rollback to continue but just wanted to let you know... This is one of them. None of my previous saves would load either, so starting the story over in this new build. Already manually deleted every previous save and the persistant file so its a fresh file.
Also is there a hidden save location? since even after deleting all previous builds and folders, the saves still showed up and I had to go in game to delete them all.
Here is the full tracelog.
