Battle UI/button_uniongravity.png has been sitting there unloved since beta 11 or thereabouts.  ...Hmm, the graphic makes me think: What if Union Battleships had a counterattack-capable melee attack using those big circular saws? |

Yea would be nice to make full use of all assets.
The way I understand it, during non-war times, the Union Battleship originally functioned as an asteroid mining ship, using tractor beams (Gravity Gun) to pull asteroids nearer, lasers to cut up asteroids, crush the fragments with those huge saws/cogs and suck them in for ore processing.
P/S - And yes none of the current regular ships have a melee attack, only ryders, but hey why let ryders have all the fun. I fancy a Union Battleship applying its melee crunch on another ship would be very damaging, but make it have like really low accuracy, so it's not going to hit more maneuverable units.

A fully equipped and fueled Union Battleship? 3000 credits
A set of 2 rockets and filling the MIRV upgrade form? 8600 credits
A Union Battlehsip "mining" an enemy Battleship into dust through its gravity gun and giant saws? Priceless
There are some things money can't buy. For the rest, Mining Union Card.

I had no idea this existed  I'll add that. as for those mauling maws, I think they were supposed to be functional in-game at one point or another but that never ended up getting made. |

Haha that would be so cool, I imagine it would have taken the form of a melee counter attack...
Maybe one day they could make it into a Sunrider game. *Dreams.
