On one side, I like. On the same token, I dislike it. I like the new music, the new art in the game was very polished, and overall the story was nice until the end. The story had me on the edge of my seat and did leave me wanting more and got me worried about events that might happen. Claude's death felt very cop out and I wasn't very happy about that. Out of everything that was happening on the battlefield, and positions one holds on a ship, (I'm looking at you radar guy) somehow in all that she got killed in a way that felt cheap. All those wtf events that happened at the end... Like come on man. Really? I'm all for cliffhanger ends to get someone to think about past events, and theory craft for future installments, but thats too much. Too many cooks spoil the broth so to speak. So much happened at the end that the emotion of the scene fell upon dull emotions. I didn't feel anything, and I felt like I was supposed to feel something. But so much was going and constantly changing so fast you have no time to feel anything, but try to make sense of the events that are transpiring. I'll be honest, and I am sure thats what devs want, feedback of sorts. The writing at the end, it sucked. It didn't pull me in like the rest of the writing in this VN, it didn't leave me wanting more, and the attachment I felt throughout the story was gone at the end. If there is something I can impart from having some writing experience of my own, is don't oversaturate plot points all in one moment. It will leave the reader feeling overwhelmed. LD was rather kinetic and lacked the choices that MOA had. I see the way they wanted to direct the game towards, just wish you had more control over it.
All that aside, I would say I really enjoyed it, but due to the nature of the events at the end, I give this game a 7/10, which is not bad. Also since Sunrider is a game about multiple parallel universes and time travel, I don't even wanna start theory crafting, like nope. In the end, I still have the Wishall, and I don't know how that will affect events in the fourth game, if at all. I feel more like Time Travel will play a huge role in the next game with going back to the past as a certain character to try to change events for the better. Considering someone came from the future at the end of LD. Also that end cg is puzzling with that quote it had. Needless to say, I hope the next Sunrider is longer than this one.
To all you guys and gals out there, I await to see speculation posts pop up. I will probably replay this to get the final cgs, and replay Sunrider Academy a bit to try to find more evidence. Cause really I doubt this will be the end of Claude, Chigara, or anyone else that carries an affection score.
