This thread is dedicated to players who attempt to finish the game on space whale difficulty. We can discuss upgrade paths and general strategies here. Mission 1 is actually not that hard on space whale. As long as you dish out good and take down Cosette in turn 1 you're good to go. The pirate reinforcements aren't a big deal either, saving up missiles is not necessary. Go all out in turn 1, and clean up afterwards. Ended up with: Enemy destruction reward: 1895 Repair costs: 429 Space whale tax: 293 Net gain: 1172 Intel gathered: 1516 Also tested the waters in mission 2, this one is going to be brutal already. I should be able to have a closer look at it by friday.

As someone who can barely muddle through the lower difficulties that aren't waifu mode, I'm eager to see if you (or anyone else) can beat your way through the game.

I too have some serious doubts about finishing this game in Space Whale... But on the bright side, the VGC is actually more useful there. Since it deals less damage, more units can actually survive the blast, allowing you to collect more CPs per mission - which translates into more VGCs At least there's that. I'll give it a try on the weekend maybe. I'll let you know how short my life was

it would be awesome to actually see a vid of you doing it. I could record it, if you really want to see this. Don't expect a professional walkthrough though, it would be more like watching a dude in his basement, who tries out stuff to somehow survive and makes stupid remarks once in a while. Ehm. I'll think about it.

Managed to beat the complete game in Space Whale. Overall easier than expected, but still challenging and annoying at times Achievement proofMy general upgrade path (overview): Sunrider: Kinetics, Missiles(5)+Resistance, Flak, Armor Black Jack: Laser, Energy Reactor, Flak, Missiles(2) Phoenix: Energy Reactor, Melee, Flak, Kinetics Paladin: Kinetics, Missiles(3)+Resistance, Flak, Armor Seraphim: Energy Reactor, Kinetics/double snipe (expensive as hell but woth it. Usually in combination with Awaken+ Atk up+ Full forward. Bianca: NOTHING Liberty: Energy Reactor for double repair, Shield Power, (She is always extremely busy. Investing in her pathetic Lasers is most certainly not worth it ) +A little Hull Plating for some Ryders Shop: - MIRVs as soon as possible + Storage - All Mercenaries (if you have enough money) Prioritise Cruisers, Falcons. - Repair Drones + efficiency Upgrade (Important in Liberty/disrupt mission) - Gravity Bianca Upgrade - Sunrider Shield Orders: - Only Full Forward and All Guard. Didn't even use the Vanguard once in this playthrough. It's not worth 4000 CP. (imho)
