A subject incredibly unlikely to come up for most of the characters it has not come up with, but that also makes it mildly amusing to me.
For my own picks, I'd go with
Asaga: a cut down rifle or shotgun; great for charging in with and rocking face. Given her recklessness and ability to awaken, she could use both.
Kryska: Just about anything, but I'd argue bare hands.
Icari: Katana in one hand, machine pistol in the other.
Kayto: The panic button under his desk or screaming for mercy.
Sola: A marksman rifle, possibly a one without an optic to make it more useful in close quartesr (and all the more impressive when she snipes someone at 200m+ with irons)
Cosette: A magnum revolver, possibly with custom tooled explosive rounds for that extra kick. Give her size, it always kicks high in the air but anyone shot by a magnum revolver tends to not be in the mood to laugh about Cosette's small size.
Chigara: As useless as it might be, I totally see Chigara bringing a full length service rifle to a fight, and holding the trigger until it is empty when confronted with someone trying to hurt her or Kayto. Her enemy would probably die, but she'd end up confused and on her butt.
Ava: A hidden weapon of some sort, possibly a derringer or a wrist blade. Given the possibility of her only having one real arm, there's no reason she can't have a blade stuck up in it that comes out for cool melee kills.
Claude: Given all we know about Claude (before and after Liberation Day), I'm assuming she would fight with utterly clumsy (and flirty) unarmed attacks, and (when confronted with a foe she cannot overwhelm or seduce in short order) by dropping grenades filled with colored smoke and running while shouting that they contain highly infectious diseases or poison.

I think I remember Samu getting asked at one point by someone on the ask.fm thing about who would be viable in combat outside of their Ryder. If I remember correctly, he said definitely Kryska and Icari would be good at combat. Sola only at distance. And the rest were pretty much running around like headless chickens. Though that was also in MoA, before Asaga could awaken. - Based on main universe, Asaga is the jack of all stats in terms of weapon types, she has everything baring torpedos. In Academy she was captain of the Kendo club. So either she'd probably use some sort of sword, or perhaps a fairly versatile gun, such as a SMG or Carbine.
- Chigara is known for having a go-go-gaget style hairband. She would probably be the support/technician on the ground. Using hacking and possibly turrets for fighting, and her taser hairband for personal protection.
- Icari would of course use swords, maybe two at the same time! Otherwise, given her background she is probably well versed in multiple types and styles of combat. I imagine she'd fight a lot like The Bride from Kill Bill. If not slicing things up, punching and kicking the crap out of them instead.
- Claude I don't even know what she could do in a planet-side conflict. She can hardly fight in a Ryder as it stands. On the other hand, she is a doctor of questionable credibility, so she would still be good at stabilizing others.
- Sola is of course the sniper of the team. But you do bring up a good point, she probably could use other med-long range weapons, such as designated marksmen's rifles, or battle rifles. And to be fair, killing a lot of people with a sniper rifle with iron sights isn't as fantastical as you might think. Simo Häyhä was THE DEADLIEST soldier we've ever had. Over 700 kills in his roughly 100 days of service. Around 200 with an SMG, and the other 500 with a iron-sighted Mosin-Nagant.
- And the final girl in our Ryder wing, Kryska is also probably trained in a wide variety of weapons and fighting styles. I think since she does prefers the harder hitting Ryders, she'd probably prefer an assault rifle, or an LMG/HMG if one was readily available.
- I feel Ava would be in more of a command position than directly fighting. She'd probably order people around and help manage logistics and strategy.
- Similar with Kayto, he'd probably be in a more command position, directing combat and tactics. Or if this was Valkyria Chronicles, he'd be in the tank.
- Cosette is probably more well versed in illegal and other disingenuous kinds of weapons. Probably knives the most, as seen when she tries to cut off kryska's legs. As well as improvised explosive devices.
On top of everyone's personal favorites, it seems like almost everyone has some experience with hand guns. Specifically the one style of grey-boxy-pistol that everyone uses. Ava uses it I think to protect Kayto when they do operation wedding crash. Chigara uses it in the end of Lib Day, as well as Kryska and Icari both using one each at the end as well.

Interesting subject. We don't know much about firearms in the Sunrider universe, so I'll be refering to existing weapons for illustrating purposes. Asaga: She's piloting an assault Ryder, I assume she'd also be using an assault rifle: Bushmaster ACR. Sola: High-tech Ryuvian sniper rifle with all kinds of fancy stuff. Icari: Something that is light, fast, effective. I'd go with a submachinegun, but one that is more solid than let's say the Uzi: MP5 with silencer, alternatively: Vector with silencer. Kryska: Another assault type, but I can imagine her with a shotgun too: HK G36, alternatively: SPAS-12. Chigara: No idea honestly. Claude: God has no use for firearms. Ava: Beretta M9 Cosette: Rocket launcher, alternatively: Chainsaw  |

I'm game, lets give this a go (though most of the below are more references than serious armaments).  Icari: Non Alliance Graded Blades. -1 affection point from Kryska.Ghost Maray: Sibling Manipulation. Who needs a weapon when your brother is a starship captain?Sola: Mass Effect - M-98 Widow Lost technology from another age is always highly coveted, luckily Sola got hers from the local game store from the 'pre owned' shelf before it became vintage.Asaga: Akame Ga Kill - Pumpkin Angst and 'awakened' emotions pack one hell of a punch, heck it can also be used as a blade - win win.Kryska: Jak and Daxter - Morph Gun She is well known for calling out 'another notch on my rifle' as she adds a new combat module.Chigara: Men in Black - 'Noisy Cricket'. After Sunrider Academy I am sure it would at least be some form of self made gadget in which appearances would be deceiving.Claude: Elder Scrolls - Wabbajack There is a reason Claude is known for comic relief.Ava: Call of Duty - Kill Streaks There is a reason doing your paperwork in advance can be beneficial, one of which is having the chain of command's permission to make a variety of decisions on the fly.Cosette: Ratchet and Clank - RYNO (Rip You a New One) The Havoc is all about its firepower, heck maybe we could stuck a Gears of War chainsaw on it just for added effect.Kayto: Typing of the Dead - Keyboard That is one way to foreshadow that there is one behind the actions of our beloved captain. |

Can't wait for the Ratchet and Clank movie. Yaaay four more Internets and I can trade them into Vaendryl for a prize. It's been a long time for me so I don't especially remember them but if we were going with raw firepower I would go with the RYNO 7 or if we were going for common ground I would go with the RYNO 5 (mostly as the added firing music is a nice touch and it feels like something that the Havoc has secretly installed).  Same here when it was announced I thought if would hit the low quality of most other video game tie ins, however it looks surprisingly good in the follow up trailers - I hope it continues to be when it arrives at the big screen. |

I'm also going to use contemporary guns.
Asaga: a close-quarters assault rifle, possibly using a special "stopping power" cartridge (Beowulf, 12.7x55 or 9x39)
Sola: a sniper rifle, possibly with the same sub-sonic cartridge for effective silencing
Kryska: an Alliance LMG / GPMG
Icari: a PDW in one hand, a sword in the other
Claude: she'll probably hold a random gun and make a show of firing it wildly at the direction of the enemy, while using her NANOMACHINES to... do something. I'm not sure what.
Chigara: a PDW which she'll be very averse to firing at anything
Cosette: the biggest hand cannon possible (because, you see... when hold of peestol like Cosette, you become stronger than recoil, because of RAGE) and a chainsword to RIP AND TEAR.
