First, I was really happy to see the v1.02 patch download onto my system last week and am mostly really happy with its effects.
For those with a short attention span, my question from a tech support perspective is: With the v1.02 patch, is there a good way to jump directly from story element to story element without grinding through the calendar day by day? Even with the enhanced stats and jump to M4, it took me 2 hours last night to get through two months which, doing the math, means I've got 17 hours of mostly mindless grinding to get through the remaining months for all three characters. Looking at cheat codes, I see that there is a way to set the month, day, and year, but that doesn't seem particularly helpful since you can't predict (I think?) when the next story element will occur. It also feels a bit fiddly as compared to, say, an "auto-grind" mode that would just rotate you between locations to keep all your stats artificially high and make sure you visit all locations where story elements might occur.
In more detail:
My first playthrough of Sunrider, I mostly enjoyed. I played the Sola arc at the standard difficulty setting and really liked the characters and the interactions with them, and didn't mind the stats management for the first several months (esp. after reading about how to get through some of the potential dead end gotchas with sola that I ran into). However, once I'd established a relationship with her, and maxed out affections with all the characters, the game lost a lot of its charm for me. Specifically, story-wise, we've now established this important relationship, and yet once you're at max affection, you simply don't see the girls around other than at clubs and when story elements trigger. It's like you're suddenly in a ghost town of a world, professing your love every few weeks, and then working through your life amidst the girls yet never interacting with them again. This combined with the amount of time to get through a story made me put the game aside even though I was curious to follow the other story arcs.
I'd recently been thinking that maybe enough time had passed that I should pick the game up again and do a second arc, so was happy to see the 1.02 patch download, read about it, and realize that it was providing much of what I wanted: Having "won" one arc, a way to get through the other arcs more quickly. However, as mentioned at the outset, it still took me about an hour per month to work through the story points in M4 and M5, keeping my stats high and trying to visit various locations. And, at the same time, it was all in that "ghost town" mode where because all the affection stats were maxed out, you never ran into anybody at lunch, in the park, etc. unless there was a story element.
As a result, I remain curious to read through the rest of the story arcs (and not simply the erotic ones -- I like all the dialogue and interactions), but find it very difficult to imagine devoting another 17 hours to pointless stats grinding in order to do so.
Help? Thanks,
