When it comes to games I love references or nods to other games or movies etc. I noticed that Sunrider(especially academy) have quite a few of them. When I was introduced to the series I started with academy, so naturally I didn't understand any of the references to the main games. I finished all routes twice through before moving on to the main games and then took a break from the series and I replayed Liberation Day a few months later and when I spotted the Death Star reference I started to wonder about any other references, then I remembered some of the stuff in Academy that now I recognise as a reference (such as Chigara beginning to say one of her MoA battle lines but stopping herself). I tried to play through academy but since it tends to take quite a bit of time to finish even one route I really couldn't be arsed to look for them. So I was wondering if anyone could tell me any references throughout the games (Doesn't have to be a reference about Sunrider, could be a nod to another game or movie) or references that other games made about Sunrider. I'm just curious as to the references the game may have that I missed. Also, feel free to mention some of the parallels that you know of within Academy, such as Sola not belonging in the Academy timeline and her travelling forwards in time in Lib. Thanks!

Probably my favourite one that I can remember is when Maray gives Kayto an alarm clock from "that game he's always playing". And it wakes him up with the quote from Admiral Grey "Sit down boy, and let me show you War."
I have to admit I would be pretty terrified to unexpectedly wake up to that too!

Yeah I agree it would be a pretty intimidating thing to wake up to!

That Kayto uses a PACT Elite (PACT being an antagonist force in the Sunrider series) on the arcade's ryder simulator, could this be a sign of things to come...?

OR! Or, Kayto is captured and must defeat the Sunrider crew to save Maray.

I noticed they also put a couple nods to their VN Homeward. In Academy they have a picture of the three girls over his computer in his room, and in MoA the picture of his sister Maray looks like Riku's sister Sora. Maray has white hair instead of black but same hair style and same stuffed animal.

Hah an I, Robot reference I just noticed in MoA “I’m sorry, my responses are limited. You must ask the right questions.” Asaga’s face turned blank as she carefully enunciated her words.

Maybe it is foreshadowing... “Why don’t you just tear off your shirts and run on sex appeal?” muttered Kayto, turning off the holo in disgust. (Sunrider Novelization Pg. 184) Looks like foreshadowing of Fontana's final move of the debates in SA.
