so i replayed LD again and just a couple of questions 1. for those of you who have completed Return, we know that Claude is essentially a god, we also learned from her that shes the only one who can manipulate time. so that being said, was she responisble for bringing the prototypes in to the current timeline 2. We were told only ruvian princesses could have their genetics tampered with so as to acquire the ability to awaken, i.e Sola and Asaga. so from this do we infer that Alice was at one point a princess. 3. Is Maray really dead or did Kayto just have his memories altered 4. the ending implied Crow and Sola were both affected by the time portal and thus ended up in the current timeline, so what was crow doing while the entire story was going, 5. who is the fafari b***h we see crow's crew referred to, sola or claude? 6. also is kayto a descendant of arcadius, we never really did learn anything about his parents, and alpha offers vague comments about kayto's heritage

Well, it could all be a dream of a dying Arcadius like Dark Mirror's Playtest or something like that. Who knows?

In my opinion the answer to most of these questions is 'possible but unlikely'
1. It's possible, but the prototypes are superhumans, they were most likely able to cause the disaster on diode without Claudes influence. I can't really think of a reason why either unless Claude is such a yandere that she will risk billions of lives to be with Kayto.
3. Its possible that Maray is alive if she was absent from cera city during the strike but Maray's death directly effects Kayto's mental state which effects the story. It is heavily implied that she is dead though. I dont really know what you mean by kayto having his memories altered. Unless sunrider is just one hugh dream, Cera got nuked.
4. Most likely preparing his fleet or searching for planets to colonise. This will be revealed in the next sunrider hopefully.
5. Most likely Sola. We know that Crows political ambitions were hindered by Sola's existance. It could be Claude as she is a time traveler but I think that Claude medaling in Ryuvian affairs 5000 years earlier is a little far fetched.
6. Arcadius was a famous leader in the compact rebelion against the new empire so it is unlikely that he is Kayto ancestor as Kayto is Ceran. I assume that Arcadius would have been a similar age to Alice before he died too meaning that he would be too young to be Kayto's ancestor but It is a possibility as we know very little about the 'real' Arcadius.
When it comes to point 2 though I'm not really in agreement. The prototypes were created on Diode as a way to assist their reaserch. I assume that Awakenings are the resault of a certain gene or something. Ryuvian princes married sharrs so that future offspring would inherit their genes. I assume that awakenings were a result of a sharr having the ability to awaken and this ability was passed down through the royal family. Alice was created in a similar way. She was genetically modified on Diode to be better than all other humans. I would guess that she recieved the ability to awaken by another human having this gene.

not sure where i was going with the memory thing either, exhuastion might've taken over however in regards to #6. we dont really know alice's age remember shes a prototype (an artifical human) so she more than likely doesnt age. correction she doesnt age. if she did there would be no way she would know about crow and still be alive in the current timeline, as crows main timeline was 2000 years ago. Arcadius could still be Kayto's ancestor as we never learn where hes from. all we know is that he fought for the less unfortunate worlds, this could include worlds in the neutral rim

What abouts:
Sola is secretly Maray brought to past by Claude, genetically engineered to be able to awaken, and then brought back to the future. Her blase attitude is her attempt to forget the genetic engineering treatment. ____ I thought Arcadius came from offworld Cera?

So a silent Sister route with a character which was supposed to be dead, who was brought to the past, got older, genetically engineered to awaken and brought back to the future... and became my most likable character of the Sunrider crew... my brain seriously hurts now...

There might be more detail in some of the content that was given to people that donated to the kickstarter of FA/MoA and LD, unfortunately I didn't come across Sunrider until it was out on steam so I didn't get any of that material.
So going from what I remember of the material of the game, Diode was a research station created outside any government to avoid government oversight and control. The prototypes were created to be a biological supercomputer that would be able to help the scientists make major breakthroughs in their research. It was my understanding Claude had nothing to do with Diode or the creation of the prototypes, she only worked with them as she saw Crow was jumping forward in time and believed they could unite all of humanity against Crow.
As for Alice being able to awaken, it is my guess she found tech that allowed her to do this. Ava says the prototypes were obsessed with ancient Ryuvian tech and spent billions excavating Ryuvia'a artificial moon. As the prototypes found the Nightmare Ascendant I think its possible they could have found tech that allowed Alice to awaken. I don't think it was a genetics thing that allowed only Ryuvian princesses to awaken, I believe this was tech that the Ryuvian royalty kept to themselves. As Sola couldn't awaken until she was drafted as a princess since the acknowledged princess wouldn't use the Final Tear. After Sola agreed she was 'upgraded' to be able to awaken, which would suggest the ability isn't passed down from father to daughter but from mother to daughter (to explain how Asaga can now) or through technological enhancement.
I believe Maray is dead, as it seems to me if she managed to get out of Cera city before it was destroyed she would have found a way to contact Kayto and let him know she was alive.
As the end of LD suggests he just arrived in the current time line, it is my guess that he just traveled farther into the future then Sola did.
I've not seen anything to suggest Claude was part of that war or that Crow knows Claude. I suspect Claude stole the time device from Crow, it is also my guess Claude brought Sola to the future to help fight Crow, but those are just guesses. So I have just assumed the Farari b***h he refers to is Sola.
As Kayto was born on Cera, a Neutral Rim planet and (at least to the best of my knowledge) Arcadius was born on a New Empire planet, I have not seen anything that has made me think the two might have some connection.

I think you're right, awakenings being a technology rather than a gene would make more sense of how Alice would have access to them. I guess Asaga could have taken the technology from Ryuvia prior to the games events too.
When it comes to the ending, I did originally think that Crow had only just arrived in the timeline but then it was revealed that Sola and Crow were both effected by same time portal so I thought that they were sent the same distance into the future. Hence this scene was a flashback. If there is a law of time travel that states 'the closer you are to a time portal, the greater the effects' that would make sense. Else he was most likely just preparing as neither PACT or the alliance ran into contact with him. As there are other neutral planets outside the neutral rim, I guess he could have already colonised those.

Well it could either be that he just arrived or it was actually a flashback from some time ago, to tell the players that he is going to be the main antagonist in the next game. Even though i do think he may just have traveled to a later time... But aside from that, i don't really have a lot of confidence of how the fight with Crow will actually go, considering the power of ancient ryuvian technology. I mean just look at the raw killing power of the Seraphim which is supposedly just a SCOUT. EDIT: Now that i think about it... Sunrider Academy Spoiler: If you played Sola's route in Sunrider Academy you did actually destroy a device which wanted to pull the Sola from that timeline to the original one.
And crow's crew said something about a device being destroyed on board which had something to do with the time travel so it may just be that crow wanted to go even further in time but was simply pulled out of the time stream.

This is my interpretation of the events related to the ending from events in the game. If there are any glaring contradictions correct me.
Crow is winning a civil war in Ryuvia so the princess is asked to use the Sharr'Lac but refuses. Crow no longer thinks the Sharr'Lac is a threat as he most likely didn't know about sola's existance so he withdraws his ships to other areas. Crow learns that Sola was going to use the Sharr'Lac and there isn't enough time to prevent her. Crow uses a piece of incomplete technology to open a time portal, go back in time and prevent Sola from firing the Sharr'Lac. The time portal instead sends Crow into the future and takes Sola with him.
The ending seems to imply that Sola was only brought to the future accidently.
I am assuming that the Sharr'Lac being activated is what Crow was trying to prevent. It's also possible that Crow was trying to prevent something else that occurred in the battle but as the Sharr'Lac was one of Ryuvias most powerful weapons, I would say its too far fetched that he traveled back in time to prevent Sola using the Sharr'Lac.
If the time portal was working correctly, it would make the most sense if everyone caught in the blast radius would travel through time at the same rate. Hence this scene is a flashback. I wouldn't think that it's too far fetched to suggest otherwise though. Crow traveled the wrong direction through time so Sola and Crow could have ended up at different point in time.
When it comes to Crow, we dont know how many ships he has although even damaged Ryuvian cruisers and nightmares were quite powerful. I dread to think of their elites. Who knows, maybe some of Crows army will defect to Asaga, she is the rightful queen.

That's a possibility, but the more I think about this the more I wonder if Sola was really caught in the time portal Crow opened. A couple questions that Sola being pulled into Crow's portal doesn't answer (assuming that if she was they would arrive at the same time):
1) How did Sola get moved from, about to activate the Final Tear of the Sharr'Lac to being asleep in the stasis chamber?
2) Claude's exam of Sola showed she hadn't been in stasis for over 1,000 years but only a few months, so if Crow and Sola arrived at the same time why didn't Crow destroy the Sharr'Loc and the rest of the Farari fleet while Sola was in stasis?
So my guess is that Claude or perhaps a different time traveler intervened and moved Sola through time where she would be found by Kayto. I am leaning toward Claude since knew were to lead Kayto to find Sola. This would imply Sola may be much more important to defeating Crow then we have thus far seen...hmmm kinda takes on a 'neither can live while the other survives' kinda vibe.

I think you're correct. I can't really think of an reasonable explanation of how Sola was moved to the stasis chamber without assistance from Claude or another time traveler unless Ryuvia had invented auto-stasis technology or something but that does sound rather far fetched.
As stated by prince earlier 'unknown interlopers' breaking the time device might be a reference to Claude and the events in sunrider acadamy. Which means that Claude has been messing with more than I originally thought in this timeline. Maybe Claude effecting events Diode isn't too far fetched after all.
So is the theory that the instant Sola and Crow traveled through time, Claude destroyed Crow' s time portal devise, placed Sola in stasis and moved the Sharr'Lac into the path of Kayto and confusing Crow as a result. So Crow likely spent this time searching for the Sharr'Lac that Claude moved.
The only Issue being that I don't know how Claude moved the Sharr'Lac. Its 4km in length. I guess she is a time traveler and was able to manipulate the laws of physics in return if Kayto complained about Claude controling him so I guess it's possible.

I'm not sure if you mean moving the Sharr'Lac from one place in space to another place in space or moving it through time. As the Sharr'Lac was in the abyss I thought that's where Sola had lured Crow to set off the Final Tear as it is extremely remote so she wouldn't destroy any solar systems there, and so I don't think Claude would have had to move it in space as she was the one who told Kayto that was the place to look for the Royal Gem that could find the missing princess. As for moving it in time, well Crow managed to move an entire fleet, so it doesn't seem unreasonable to me that Claude's could move a 4 km ship. We arn't really given a scope for what the device is capable of doing.
Sunrider Academy I wasn't sure if Chigara actually did anything, if she really did destroy the time machine or if they just thanked her for helping not wanting her to feel she wasted her time since all Kayto and Sola had to do was convince Claude to cut the connection so the shadow of Sola could stay. If Chigara didn't actually do anything then that leaves me a couple guesses as to what happened to Crow's time device. One being Claude sabotaged it or two maybe moving the entire fleet overloaded it.
Heh just reread this and if I'm correct that Claude moved Sola through time then I'm more convinced that Chigara didn't actually do anything. If Claude moved Sola through time then it would have been Claude's device that would have created the shadow of Sola and would have needed to be destroyed. But as Claude used it to escape her ryder before it blew up and again to pop back to the group in the cargo hold it doesn't seem very broken. And as Sola is aware of Claude's involvement in the events of Sunrider Academy, which we find out at the end when Sola is telling Kayto that Claude is essentially a god, then that puts the events of Sunrider Academy before Liberation Day.
Okay another thought that just hit me is maybe Claude didn't move the Sharr'Lac at all not through space or through time, maybe she only moved Sola. The question that just hit me was, if Claude moved the entire Sharr'Lac through time, then why was Sola's Ryder so degraded my time?

A bit unrelated but I've re-read the ending and it states that Crow and his ships were transported 5000 years into the future. Thats 3000 years after the neutral rim war right?
So, Sola and Crow travel 5000 years into the future then Claude moved Sola 3000 years into the past?
or the time portal malfunctioned and sent Sola and Crow into different time periods.
I was saying that If Sola and Crow came back at the same moment in time, Crow would have reached Sola first, he would at least have an approximate location of the Sharr'Lac as he got shot by it so he most likely would have found it in a few months.

Those are some big jumps in time. If Crow jumped 5000 years into the future he is either 3000 years after Sunrider or there are some big timeline holes.... From the Sunrider Novelization Chapter 12- The Abyss
“Hey, look at that!” Chigara’s voice quickened with excitement. “That ship’s almost perfectly preserved! Scanning now… Captain, judging from the radiation leak and decay from its reactor, I’m dating this ship to be almost… two thousand years old! And this ship still has intact lateral markings… it looks like it used to be part of the Ryuvian Princess’ Royal Guard! (Page 129).
Chapter 13 - Sola Chigara gasped, her ancient history lessons coming back to her. “B-but that’s impossible! The Sola vi Ryuvia? Of the Ancient Ryuvians? But you died over two thousand years ago!” (Page 138).
The page numbers may not match exactly as I've copied and saved it to a PDF file on my computer and have made some grammar changes.
Okay now I'm really confused, I'm thinking you must have a typo in your game cause I just loaded one of mine where I was almost to the end so I could zip past the credits and here is what mine says...
Deep withing the Mnemosyne Abyss... A mammoth super-dreadnought of unknown origins emerged from warp space. Officer: My liege... The time portal did not work as anticipated... Officer: Instead of being transported to before the battle, we were flung two thousand years into the future instead... Officer: Further, it appears the Farari b***h was also caught in the temporal blast and flung into this time line as well... Officer: Unknown interlopers have destroyed the time device, and thus we cannnot anticipate returning to our time line... Crow: Arggh... Crow: Fool! Officer: I-I beg your forgiveness, my lord Crow... Officer: T-the denizens of this universe appear to be nothing more than primitives... Officer: S-surely, my lord can expect to easily subjugate them for his ends... Crow: Grrgg... Crow: ...Very well... Crow: If I am to be robbed of my victory against the Farari lowbloods, then I shall rebuild our glorious empire here. Crow: Hah! Crow: To the denizens of this strange new land... Crow: Prepare! Crow: For the rebirth of the Holy Empire!
Which has now got me wondering when this is happening. Chigara was dating the ships to be 2k years old which they shouldn't be if they were brought through time. Sunrider battles Sola, who surrenders and is taken on board just before the Sharr'Loc explodes nearly vaporizing the Sunrider before it can warp away... If Crow's appearance is after the Liberation Day massacre (with nothing to say it is a flash back or flash forward it is just an assumption) then how would the officer know about Sola? The Sharr'Loc's Final Tear vaporized the ships, and if any of the ships were far enough away to escape the blast they would be 2k years old now.

The Sharl'Loc was in really bad shape, holes all over the place, frozen bodies. The only room on the ship that actually had atmosphere was the Bridge, where Sola was in hibernation. The Final Tear was supposed to consume the life of the Ryuvian Princess as the final catalyst needed to activate it. So what would happen if that Ryuvian Princess where to be whisked away before the life could be drained?

Okay now I'm really confused, I'm thinking you must have a typo in your game I believe I was running a previous version. In 3.0 you are correct it states 2000. That makes more sense now. I was wondering where they would be going with that. Claude bringing Kayto 3000 into the future would have been a little odd. I thought this too, but I thought it was implied that the ryuvian cruisers in that mission are damaged because they got hit by the sharr'lac. This might have been what you were implying anyway. We dont actually know which would occur first, Sola dying or the Sharr'Lac firing. Maybe the Sharr'Lac fired and before she died, the time portal was activated.

I thought that when the Sharr'Loc exploded and almost destroyed the Sunrider, that that was the Final Tear activating.
My guess on how Sola survived assumes Claude grabbed Sola as she was about to activate the Final Tear and puts her in the stasis tube. Then with the help of Alpha and the prototypes (heh sounds like a geek band) bypasses the requirements that Sola's life is drained away or has to hold that DNA activated switch on till it explodes or however that mechanic works, so Claude can remote detonate it. So Asaga finds Sola and Claude remote activates the sequence to wake her from stasis. Sola attacks Asaga and escapes to her ryder, Asaga makes it out of there and back to her ryder as they battle some of the Ryuvian warships that have woken up. Once those ships are destroyed and Sola has surrendered Claude activates the Final Tear to get Sunrider to warp out of there to somewhere Pact can take the Crown Jewel of Ryuvia...and Asaga,
Multiple explosions broke out on the ancient Ryuvian super-dreadnought, setting its entire hull on fire before its primary reactor chained, breaking free of its controlled reaction and consuming all its remaining fuel in a single, brilliant nova. The entire ship was consumed as a massive blue ball of plasma blasted outwards, momentarily birthing a new star in the Abyss. Radiating outwards, the explosion slammed into the ancient shipwrecks, consuming them eagerly as it raged towards the Sunrider. With a hellish storm of searing plasma rushing at her, Sunrider’s warp drives teased apart space and time, pushing the ship to the safety of another dimension a millisecond before it was too late.
(Sunrider Novelization Page 137). “And what about that explosion? We’ve never seen anything of that magnitude.” “Such is the ultimate power of the Sharr’Lac,” answered Sola, apparently referring to the ancient superdreadnought. “The Final Tear… a weapon of unimaginable destructive potential. It was within the power of the Sharr’Lac to raze and burn everything within a half a light year radius, so long as one was willing to pay the Ultimate Sacrifice.”
(Sunrider Novelization Page 139).
With the destruction of the Sharr'Loc, whether it was the Final Tear or some other self-destructing malfunction, the ships in the Mnemosyne Abyss were destroyed. So how does Crow's officer know Sola is in this time too?

Alice seems to be some kind of reincarnation of Sharr Myren, the Nightmare's original pilot. REturn.rpy, line 8738: REturn.rpy, line 11311: So, I would assume that Diodians have somehow discovered the Nightmare frame and bio-engineered Alice from the remnants of its diseased pilot, which gave a start to the whole Prototype project.

So how does Crow's officer know Sola is in this time too? Sola: "The circumstances around my survival have been inexplicable. My body should have been vaporized the instant the Final Tear was activated." (from Sunrider) Based on this, I would amend my above guess that Claude had tampered with the Sharr'Lac to knock Sola out instead of vaporize her, and the Final Tear not activate until Claude was ready for that to happen. Deep withing the Mnemosyne Abyss... A mammoth super-dreadnought of unknown origins emerged from warp space. So an answer to my on question of how Crow knew of Sola...If the emerging from warp space isn't reffering the time jump but rather a ship that has returned from scouting then knowledge of Sola can be explained by have been watching a current news feed. So, I would assume that Diodians have somehow discovered the Nightmare frame and bio-engineered Alice from the remnants of its diseased pilot, which gave a start to the whole Prototype project. Alice Ashada pondered those thoughts as she walked through the Diode Cloning Facility. Her steps took her to a familiar location. Her old office. (So even this detail has been recreated exactly as before...) It was here, where for the merest sliver of a second, she brushed her fingers against that almighty power... The Paradox Project... The galaxy's greatest and most dangerous minds had gathered here, in the furthest corner of the galaxy, to finally attain what had eluded humanity for so long. They were exiled Alliance researchers and New Imperial scientists deemed too dangerous even for the tyrants of New Eden... But attempt after attempt, year after year, they had failed to produce results. Computations done through their best super computers and artificial intelligences failed to yield breakthroughs. It was then when they realized such knowledge was beyond the comprehension of mere humans. They needed to create a new race, capable of thought processes beyond the capacity of even the most gifted of homo sapiens." First, a prototype was created. Alice Ashada. They watched her. Raised her as a one of their own. Even gave her the surname of the director of the Paradox Project, who assumed the role of her father. (Tsch... But it was all a lie! Humans... created me for their own ends... And tossed me away the moment I fulfilled my use.) The Prototype produced some promising results. Accomplishing what super computers and the galaxy's best minds could not, Alice successfully translocated molecules by fractions of a second. A breakthrough, produced even before the artificial girl had turned sixteen. Using the lessons learned from the Prototype, the Alpha was finally created. Alice's teeth clenched. (Those scum.. created my sister and I... just so we could be tools in their search to become gods. But I stopped their plans... and saved the both of us.) The Prototype proved far more difficult to control than her creators believed. She accidentally discovered the truth of her existence. Her belief that she was a normal human girl who lived with her caring parents in a research station was shattered that day - the first of the many pieces of her sanity which would break following that day. (Yes...) It was here... when I struck down my father... with my very hands. What else could I do? I was merely a test run. They were going to toss me away, like an obsolete machine. I had no choice! I was going to rescue my sister and escape this prison... But Alice's life did not have such a happy conclusion. [Liberation Day ReTurn] It could have been Sharr Myren's DNA, as there has been speculation that a lot of ancient Ryuvian technology was hidden at Diode and the Nightmare Ascendant and Sharr Myren's remains could have been among that if true. Another possibilty is that Sharr Myren's remains were found later and Alice was able to extract the nanobots from her remains. Some of who Sharr Myren was may have been imprinted on the nanobots and perhaps even in the Nightmare Ascendant.
