I'm a little sad when Icari, Krysta don't play any role in the game. I wish there is an expansion where more characters like Alice, Arcadius, Alpha have their role in the story.

We don't even know what LiS will even do after they are finished with Starnova... but i would honestly not really want another Academy i would like the main series to continue rather than a spin-off...

Academy is a fun diversion from the main series but I wouldn't want more until the main games storyline is wrapped up. I just don't care for stat management games at all. I enjoyed Return more than Academy, if that's any indication of where I'm at.

I enjoyed Return more than Academy, if that's any indication of where I'm at. I wasn't crazy about the stat management either, I struggled through Ava's story first, reloaded at the point I could choose a path and looked up the cheats so I could focus more on the story. I'm really not sure where a sequel to Academy would go since each ending wrapped up differently, it would have been set up better for a sequel if after graduating they joined the space force. This would have allowed the sequel to remain in a school type setting while adding some space combat sim training.

A second Academy game wouldn't necessarily have to be a proper sequel. Since Academy is not canonically connected to the main series there could be plenty of options such as another separate universe, a focus on another character like Fontana (I'll admit that's unlikely but I'm just throwing ideas out), or maybe a series of "what if" scenarios like REturn.
I don't necessarily think my ideas for this are really that great or likely, but I do feel like something could be done with another Sunrider Spinoff.
You could even use your idea of joining the space force but keep it independent from the first Academy all together. I do actually kind of like that idea.

Alice and Alpha weren't even thought of when Academy was released, and Icari after FA/MoA didn't have the popularity she has now. Remember, Academy was between FA/MoA and LD. Hell, if Academy was released right now, after LD, I imagine it would be Ava as President, Sola on the Swim Team, Icari in the Kendo Team and Asaga on the Esports Team, since Chigara was far more popular after FA/MoA than she was after LD.
But as it stands now, I'd rather see them expend Sunrider juice on a new main series Sunrider than another spinoff. We got Starnova. A Sunrider spinoff at this point would seem like a slap in the face. I think another non-Sunrider VN would be better received than a Sunrider Spinoff at this point. People want resolution.

Yes, as much fun as Sunrider Academy was, I am really looking forward to the continuation of the main story of the game. I want Icari and/or Sola as Kayto's final partner, although I imagine Sola will probably not live until the finale.

I also want them to release the next main game in the series, though I wouldn't be opposed to another spin off at some point. I really love Academy, but there are so many lingering plot threads after Liberation Day that need to be resolved. I'm hoping that the next game has no single "canonical" route, because that's what made so many people angry during Liberation Day. Personally, I love Chigara and Asaga, and I hope that we get good stories with happy endings for these two. In addition to any romance outcomes, I want them to patch things up for good, because seeing their friendship completely crumble during Liberation Day kind of broke my heart.
