When ever i used the vanguard cannon i could raise the damage to ludicrous amounts (multiple million) by spinning my mouse round in circles around the enemy (perhaps applying the vanguard cannon effect multiple times)

This is because the difficulty affects the final damage output of the Vanguard.

if this really happens I'm VERY curious how that could possibly be.

I occurs on both causal and normal (though it seems a bit inconsistent on the later)
If its relevant i am still playing on 12.1 (i didn't see the update till i had posted)

holy crap confirmed. definitely purely a graphical glitch no it's not god damn aliasing... but damn that's actually pretty cool. thanks for the video explaining it! It's caused by adjusting damage for difficulty inside the screen/display code. by moving the mouse over a lot of ships the screen code gets reset and re-run each time. it won't do anything at captain diff and at higher difficulty it'll shift towards 1. I fixed it for next version

I believe the Arcadius shrink bug has just been dethroned as the wackiest bug in Love in Space history.

Ah I see, I was trying to do this before the command (aiming) was made by flailing my mouse around. Nice find Steve.

This is now one of my all time favorite bugs.

A chargeable vanguard QTE is clearly a feature, not a bug. Just like the feature back in MoA where sword attacks could damage large ships. At infinite range .

Hopefully Samu-Kun confirms that part of the maintenance of the Vanguard is cleaning it with jelly so that all beams have a little bit more bounce.
