Whenever I try to load a saved game the game crashes and I get this:

This error suggests that the save you're trying to load no longer exists, if you go to C:\Users\*name\AppData\Local\Starnova_Idol_Empire\saves (C:\ represents your primary drive) this will be the folder it is looking at.
What might be worth doing is taking a backup of the saves in this folder and putting it to one side and then deleting the current saves folder, relaunch Idol Empire so that the game creates a new folder for its reference at which point you can close the game. Drop the files you backed up back into the folder and then relaunch the game and try again.

Well it crashes whenever I use a number as a save game name and then try to load it.

Starting with a number or just containing a number? What number(s) in particular? Perhaps you could also provide an example of all this coming together and with a particular filename that you've found cannot be loaded?
