Steam page up. T-minus 8 days, 16 hours and counting Let's not have discussion get flooded by haters. A bit quiet still though on general Internet hype. I think for the final week before release, it's probably time to get things going and spread the word around to VN/general gaming/turn based strategy sites. All suggestions welcome

I was going to swing by the Steam discussions to lend a hand but it seems they have mostly been cleared up. I'm getting slow in old age. Told a porker, dropped a few posts. While I cannot say I have many communities I still linger around to recommend to, I do bring up Sunrider as a recommendation to friends I know who are interested in the genre. I wonder though, at the point of release is it worth posting on Steam (and other distribution outlets) about this forum both for on going technical feedback but also so fans of the series also have a place to checkout?

I wonder though, at the point of release is it worth posting on Steam (and other distribution outlets) about this forum both for on going technical feedback but also so fans of the series also have a place to checkout? I favor first consulting the wiki for technical knowhow and game mechanics. Which is why I am pushing strongly for an updated wiki on gameplay once the game is released, especially when we lack a detailed breakdown of in-game damage mitigation (armor/shield/flak). Damage and accuracy formulas are given here: sunrider.gamepedia.com/Combatespecially sunrider.gamepedia.com/Direct_CombatThat's all you really need to read and understand to be competent. I don't even know the hate mechanics in detail and usually just rely on feel to manipulate aggro. Any more info than that would be going to guide or walkthrough territory. I am generally in the "show them how the mechanics are and let them figure things out for themselves" camp. I'll jump in if people are still having trouble but in general I assume that part of the fun is figuring a good upgrade plan and good battle tactics for themselves. In other words, to answer your question, by all means direct them to this forum for technical feedback but recommend the wiki first, recommend the wiki second and recommend the wiki third, as I find a lot of feedback and queries are already addressed there.

Googled for internet hype and apart from Siliconera.com and Hardcoregamer.com, I don't see Liberation Day getting much mention at all. Seeing as the devs are probably still busy with last minute fixes and getting launch ready... on top of fixing the forums (lol such a bad time for this to happen), I've gone ahead and put Liberation Day posts on: 1) Steam group for Turn Based Tactics 2) Facebook group for Turn based Tactics/Strategy 3) a review request for MoA and also hopefully Liberation Day later to Spacesector 4)and a review request to RPGcodex I leave the hyping on: Fuwanovel VNDB Lemmasoft forums Reddit also probably steamcommunity.com/groups/Visual_Novels to the more capable hands of our devs and/or VN savvy members. You don't want somebody who might get shot on sight to go to those places Would also be good to put up some news on Japanese VN sites as the devs have gone to quite a bit of trouble to get full Japanese voiceacting done. So I'm hoping it pays off. Me no speak Japanese, so that's about as far as I will go on the matter xD I'm open to further suggestions on where to put up notice on Liberation Day but personally I'm only tackling sites which involve turn based tactics.

That's our Drath!
Seems like the reaction is not going so well, though. Well, can't blame them, I personally also had a lots of problem with the writing. With a bit of luck though the people who play for the gameplay (which really, I'm sure they can't finish the game in 5 hours even if they play on ensign) will in the end prevail to get at least a positive rating

Drath: not the hero we deserve but the hero we need! One and a half years ago, a dev took time out from his busy schedule to write a piece for me, to get me into beta testing. Certainly not what I deserved either, but I did need it and was very happy to get it. He gave me one of the best turn based experiences since HoMM and for that he will always be a hero in my eyes. So yea thank you for the kind words, but to be honest, Drath is currently in a very dark place emotionally after seeing the ending (no he hasn't finished SW from scratch, but he loaded up a 12.4a save to take a peek... he couldn't resist after seeing all the horror stories >_<). Yes I know it's just a game and I shouldn't get emotional, but it's been 2 years that we've shared together, throughout the early betas till now. It's hard to not get at least a little emotionally involved with the game, game characters and of course the people in the community, devs and fans alike. I did say I was always a sucker for happy endings before so yea I will leave it at that. Kindly grant me a day to reflect on things and get back to my normal self, as I'm no use to anyone anyway in this state and I don't want to say dumb things that I will regret later. There will be no further promotion from me until Sam clarifies his stand on Magpie's thread. It's ok he can take his time. I'm sure he's completely exhausted after pulling 2 all nighters and I totally salute his dedication in doing last minute polishing. Let him write when he's well rested and has organized his thoughts properly. I'm patient. Right now I'm almost scared to say anything anywhere anymore and will be treading VERY VERY carefully.

Hey man. Thanks for your kind words. I've always really appreciated all the hard work you've put in to help make Sunrider the best it can be. I hope you're okay and don't let it get to you too much how bad things seem at the end of LibDay. There were many hints hidden throughout the first three parts that allude to what's to come, and this is not the end of the story of Sunrider.

Thanks for your concern, I'm feeling better today after 2 scoops of Baskin-Robbins I recommend that any others feeling the same way should get some too xD As for the story, sorry to be skeptical but I will believe it when I see the script in v2.00 and then I will decide for myself if it actually makes good sense. A deus ex machina plot device to restore matters back to 'normal' would be a greater disservice to the characters than to allow them to pass on into the afterlife with dignity.
