Keeping in the spirit of the sub section here is the second topic discussion thread for all your anime needs. My current project for now is to watch Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen episode 17 again and then move onto this week's 18, the more I watch of this series the more I hope we get a port or at least a fan translation of the VN at some point in the future - I was a big fan of the original Utawarerumono. To date, I think my favourites are a mash of; Utawarerumono, Steins Gate or Nichijou - each of which I ended up doing a weekend long binge of watching them (that is how you get my seal of approval, if you can keep me on track for the entire weekend). I tend to keep a full list of my stuff on MyAnimeList (mostly because I lose count of where I am with some series) so if you have any questions on something I have watched let me know.

this season mostly looking forward to Dimension W and konosuba each week, though there are tons of shows I haven't even tried. there are way too many for me to think about watching the first of them all. maybe if they all were on CR or something however, best girl of the season may be a tossup between kirbygirl from phantom and bargirl from dagashi kashi.

As in 'Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World'? I think that is the only thing of this season that I am currently watching besides Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen, it makes me miss 'No Game No Life'. I wonder if the Demon King that they are hunting is the Demon Lord from 'The Devil Is a Part-Timer', considering how off the rails this series is going I wouldn't be surprised.

Despite my avatar being Yuuki, and my name being Yuuki, and my MAL account being named Yuukiism. I overall wasn't really all that happy with the series. I upped my rating of it purely for her sake. The anime I like is pretty varied, but I think as long as something is interesting, I like it. Fate/Zero is probably my favorite anime adaption, however. As much as I love the Valkyria Chronicles game, I actually wasn't very happy with the anime. I upped dat rating. I swear I don't do that often! maybeCurrently I am watching Dimension W and Hai to Gensou no Grimgar, though I'm spending too much time in Blade and Soul to watch much else, even though I know there are other good shows out there.

I'm halfway through "Prison school" at the moment and I still don't know how to feel about it. It's basically like a rollercoaster trip, sometimes borderline disgusting, sometimes quite funny. Not sure if I would recommend it though. Maybe some BDSM Eva supporters should take a look at this anime. If you're into that kind of stuff you get my approval to watch this.

I'm currently watching about 28 or so anime that are currently airing but the ones I like the most from those are Dimension W, Musaigen no Phantom World (Myriad Colors Phantom World), Konosuba, and Koukaku no Pandora (Pandora in the Crimson Shell).

Now that I have caught up on the Utawarerumono I have moved back onto Mikakunin de Shinkoukei - I am enjoying this series based on character reactions alone.

Currently watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. (Yes, I didn't watch it yet.) Just ended the first story arc. Nice over the top mech action. I'm enjoying it more than expected.

I feel slightly stunted with the fact I have yet to give a mecha anime a go, closest I have are the Av Kamiw in Utawarerumono (their battle theme in the VN edition scares me ). I have now run out of Mikakunin de Shinkoukei so back to trying to work through YuruYuri Season 2 which has been a good laugh so far.

Uhm, yeah, sorry for thread necromancy.
Right now I'm watching the penultimate episode of Sidonia. Like it so far, even though a lot of people told me that "the second season is crap" - I wonder if that's some new fashion going on, because the same people also told me "the second season of Aldnoah is crap" - oh well, I disagree, but to each their own.
I liked the original Utawarerumono, but unless the last episode of Itsuwari no Kamen has aired I won't touch that thing at all. Waiting one week for the next episode is something that annoys me to no end.
Over the years I have watched quite a lot of shows - back in '99 my first boyfriend was totally into anime and he sparked my interest in it to. Interestingly my first two animes were Evangelion and Sailor Moon - in hindsight I can't imagine a better "starter" for my career as anime fan.
Anime I liked the most ... well, there are so much shows I really like. If my entry on Myanimelist is correct, I have seen 184 anime so far, while I'm "currently" watching around 127 shows. Yeah, I'm a bit of a messy in that regard. Hmmm. I think the anime I really, really love the most is "Hikaru no Go" - a great show, which I always can rewatch. It even made me interested in Go for a bit. Oh, and Darker than Black. 'nuff said. I still hope they're making a prequel ...

Waiting one week for the next episode is something that annoys me to no end. Thread necromancy? It's only been a week since my last reply, I'm hurt. Excellent to hear there is another Utawarerumono fan on the forum, I was starting to get lonely. I don't blame you on the 'waiting until the last episode' position, the second half of the season can be quite mean with the questions it leaves open at the end of episodes. The last episode is particular has me impatiently waiting for the weekend. In other news I have moved onto Danganronpa: The Animation now that I have cleared the first game, I am glad I did it this way around as the anime goes at 100 miles an hour which is killing the immersion. It's not an awful adaptation but it deserved more than 13 episodes.

Hehe, sorry about the "necromancy" - I probably was just being overly careful. I have to admit that I never got very far into the game - I normally like turn based games very much, but I also suck thoroughly at them. I greatly liked the first Utawarerumono anime though - there were quite some surprise elements (especially concerning the "After the End" - setting, really had no clue about that.) for me. Liked most of the characters too; I'm especially fond of Touka. I just have a thing for honorable warriors. Heard a few things about "horrible cliffhangers" concerning Itsuwari, so I'm very cautious. I liked the art, as far as I have seen it. On a side note I'm done with Knights of Sidonia now, but the ending left me very dissatisfied. Still a lot of unresolved questions remaining - looks like I have to buy the manga to see how the story progresses. Not sure what I'll watch now - a friend has been nagging me a while now about "Fate/Zero", but the one time I tried watching it I got really turned off by some endless dialogue between two guys drinking wine and having some sort of briefing in the first episode...

Especially the one involving her childhood doll.I have a 50/50 fondness of both Touka and Karura especially after watching some of their interactions in the VN, I recommend trying to finish it if you get the chance as there are gems in there that are not included in the anime.

Huh, there were OVAs for the original season? I think I have to look these up sometime. And the game ... uhm, given my low skills in such games (and Utawarerumono having a reputation as extremely hard) I think that's impossible to do for me. Also started watching "Fate Stay Night" now, just finished episode 3, but so far it's not very convincing. I'm very critical about tampering with historical characters - even though it's historical characters from that series universe. Feels relatively alien to me, so, hum. I'll still watch a few more episodes, but I'm not totally hot for it. Speaking of hot - some of the male characters are very pretty though Too bad that the one guy I liked most so far (simply by looks) is such a psycho. (Yes, that would be Lancer, though Archer isn't bad either.)

I'm actually rather new to this genre so I don't actually have any that I am currently watching.
I was wondering if anyone might have any recommendations.

Is there anything you have watched or would be interested in as a genre? There are so many options out there that I am sure we could recommend to you for days. Personally I am quite fan of slice of life and/or comedy animes, the first of which that I would recommend is Nichijou if you haven't seen it: myanimelist.net/anime/10165/Nichijou

It was called Cowboy Bebop. As a general rule I'll go for anything that has strong character work. Fun waifus are a plus but not necessary.

Nichijou? No offense, but, Magpie, why hast thou betrayed me? I've seen quite a bit Slice of Life, but Nichijou was pretty weird, so I'm not so sure if it's a good series for starters. The aforementioned Cowboy Bebop is very well made, however it's genre (Wikipedia says "Space Western" & "Neo-noir") is pretty rare in anime, at least as far as I know. Now that I think of it - "Noir" is also classified as 'neo-noir'. Definitely worth a watch, if you like the "Girls with Guns" - genre. If you're looking for something serious but aren't sure about the "Girls with Guns" part, I'd strongly recommend "Black Lagoon", however that, too, is rather extreme, so, hmm. (Wiki: Action, Crime Drama, Black Comedy - I'm not so sure about the 'Crime' part, but oh well.) Still staying serious and in the Action/Drama department: "Darker Than Black" (Also: Supernatural, Mystery) Both of these lack a bit in "fun Waifus" - it's more like serious badass Waifus though. If I wasn't totally overworked and sick I'd probably list a lot more. Maybe later. :]

if nichijou is too weird then the next best thing is azumanga daiou. if it's not weird enough go watch pani poni dash. never mind. watch all 3.
if you want kickass waifu I'd suggest gunslinger girl. if that one is too heavy on the atmosphere watch girl und panzer. you also may want to look into sora no woto. if you want more pantsu there's also strike witches. if you want the ultimate in trash waifu loli fanservice fate kaleid prisma illya is waiting for you (I fucking love that show).

Gunslinger Girl was really good, but all the drama. I didn't cry just once, but to be honest, it's pretty easy to make me cry anyway, so ...
I really liked Sora no Woto, it's probably one of the few Slice of Life anime with serious character development.
... and back to bed. :x

Nichijou? No offense, but, Magpie, why hast thou betrayed me? Nooo don't say that - what if I changed my suggestion to something like Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo or Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai? Heck if I change the genre to comedy I will throw in Gugure! Kokkuri-san for free as it was something I enjoyed quite recently or Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo which I am currently watching as one of my active series. Would I earn any points back? I've seen quite a bit Slice of Life, but Nichijou was pretty weird, so I'm not so sure if it's a good series for starters. Wait weird? You're telling me that other people don't live out their lives like this, that this is not normal? Man you lot are missing out.

Huh, actually ... I have never seen any of these. Maybe I'll take a peek!
Strangely enough MAL counts a whole lot of series as Slice of Life ... so far I've seen: A channel, Azumanga Daioh, K-On!, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Isshuukan friends, Ai Yori Aoshi, Minami-ke, Boku wa tomodachi gai nai, Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii, Koufuku Graffiti and Jinsei. Probably even a few more I have forgotten already.

Boku wa tomodachi gai nai Ah man Haganai, I haven't picked that up in a while now. Many approves! I continue to hope for a season 3 considering only 8 of the manga volumes have been used so far.

Sidonia no Kishi and Alnoah Zero are my faves (see a pattern), anyone else seen the entire 1st Utawarerumono series I didn't get it, and to contribute an extra recommendation Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen series, surprisingly good underrated though. as to what I'm currently watching however, Hai to Gensou no Grimgar its kinda like what Sword art Online should've been, I recon most have seen some of it.
mecha anime-yes always yes, any recommendations

Erased, good series but they translated the name poorly the title should be "The Town Where Only I am Missing" So the name literally references Hinazuki Kayo's text/poem. Awww...that's so nice ...and makes so much more sense if you consider what happens in the series
Watched all the 9 anime episodes released until now (w english subs at least). I also found out just now (silly me), that the original manga was completed not to long ago. Might give it a try, I don't normally find a seinen that I like this much.
