This season is pretty dry for me, i'm only following a few of the series like " Konosuba" and "GATE season 2" . I'm on hold for the rest atm. In the downtime i'm blasting my way through the legendary "Initial D", and eurobeat is creeping into my music playlists for some reason Here's my MAL for more of an idea, though my taste is all over the place...

Sidonia no Kishi and Alnoah Zero are my faves damn, who could like Aldnoah.Zero after its shitty ending? Best anime ever?? probably Outlaw Star (its rare piece of genius.)
Favorite anime from last season (Fall 2015) ?? I can recommend One Punch Man. So epic. This winter anime season ?? Its generally very disappointing. Only KONOSUBA is saving it with its ludicrousness ( Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!)
best action anime of this season is this OVA: Noblesse Awakening

Well after getting pressured week by week to pick it up I decided to watch the first season of K-On - very enjoyable I can see why it got recommended. I will never be able to look at bowls of rice in the same light again ...It was also the last episode of KonoSuba this week which was a shame considering as it was one of the only things I was enjoying of this season's content. However ... I can rest easy knowing more is in production.

It was also the last episode of KonoSuba WTF? Anime season has usually 12 episodes and that episode 10 ended with such teaser for next episode!! And now I find out that ep10 was actually the last episode... goddamned, I am so mad!

KonoSuba was actually quite clever in the fact they never published the number of episodes in season one until well... the last episode. xD I'm disappointed but at least season two is now in the works, maybe they'll get a bigger budget for episodes next season now it has a bit more of a following.

It was also the last episode of KonoSuba this week It crushed me when I noticed. Yeah I've been meaning to try K-On forever, it's always being recommended to me. Might finally be time to pick it up...

Konosuba was surprisingly good. Perhaps it's because there are so many harem anime revolving around online gaming that I felt refreshing having a sarcastic take on them. Perhaps it has too much fanservice to be truly enjoyable by a newbie of the genre, but it made me laugh so hard... expecially the salad episode, true genius there.
I've been watching Dagashi Kashi, too, but I find it quite dull and don't really think I'll keep watching the show. And, waiting for a third season of Oregairu but it seems there won't be one this year... perhaps in 2017?
Also, I've recently finished Madoka Magika and I absolutely LOVED it. Short, deep and emotional, if a friend didn't persuade me I'd have skipped it entirely, thinking it was some kind of kid's show... but how glad am I for giving it a chance.

Anyone watching Re: Zero? Went in with low expectations, then watched all the episodes from 2AM-about 4:30AM. I've tried not to spoil anything though Wikipedia spoiled one small thing for me. It's been really REALLY good. Reminds me of a mix of Konosuba and Rokka no Yuusha.

RE:Zero is a series I wish was already fully out, I hate waiting each week for the new episode considering its refreshing clash of humour and fantasy/mystery. It is one of the few series where I am also watching the silly additional shorts (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Break Time) as they highlight the cast outside the plot but are still quite entertaining.

I've only watched two recent anime in the last 3 or 4 years. The Persona 4 Anime and One Punch Man.
The P4 Anime was alright. One Punch Man was amazing, and I can't wait for the next season. Even got me to look for the Manga which has never happened before. Recently I started watching The Irresponsible Captain Tylor which I discovered and decided to check out completely on a whim. And I'm glad I did, as I now love it to death. I think I need to watch more animes that came out around the same time I did.
As far as favorites go, Outlaw Star was my favorite for the longest time. One Punch Man may have unseated that position however.

Just finished Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru... It was a decent time killer. Something to watch when you don't know what to do 30 minutes before bed. What I really liked was Sidonia no Kishi. Blazed through both seasons in two weekends and amazingly its opening sequence song has made it to my ipod playlist. Something that has happened less times than the amount of fingers I have on one hand.
Edit: Oh, that and Gate. That was bloody brilliant.

Is it me or is this season of anime feeling rather limited? Seems to me the only things I have to watch on a reoccurring basis are; Re:Zero, Rewrite and Gyakuten Saiban. Anyone got any current season recommendations that have quite an easy entry point?

YMMV, but this season I liked the first eps of "new game" and "sweetness & lightning". I skimmed through ep1 of "Taboo Tatoo" expecting nothing of interest but it actually seemed pretty impressive so I'll watch that soonish. UFOTABLE does the tales of zestria series so that might be interesting. I happen to have recently bought the game on steam though so I'll refrain because story spoilers. Didn't like the 3D rendered look of the new Berserk anime, but it's still mother fucking Berserk. it's weird how it looks modern (but somehow lazy) yet the bloody and gory nature feels almost anachronic, reminding one of the lost anime age of ninja scroll, fist of the north star, akira, ghost in the shell, genocyber etc. I thought ep1 of "the morose mononokean" was... okay (that's still a lot better than the average). I think I'll watch ep 2 but I'm not sure where it's going and whether it's worthwile overall. Planetarian seems very interesting, if only because I know the VN was short but very strong. I only saw the first segment of the first episode briefly, but it seems they'll be fleshing out the overal story which I'm excited about. I'm sure Rewrite is cool but I'm stuck in a limbo with shows like this (e.g. little busters etc) where I've been wanting to read through the VN for ages and if fear I'll be selling myself short on the big picture by watching the anime first/instead... I'll probably also watch Ilya with perverse glee at one point or another.

Hopefully this season turns out better than the last, there were only a few anime I kept up with on a weekly basis. So far so good. Rewrite seems ok... If I knew what was going on. Hopefully it clears up soon.
I'm also watching Berserk. This is my first time with the story, so I'm not sure if I'll like it. Seems pretty good so far. The 3D can be a tad off putting at times, but I've found that if I give 3D animation a couple episodes, it stops bothering me.
I'm also enjoying Food Wars, as usual. Idk what it is, but I find the show great. And uh, Re:Zero. I'm watching it, Obviously.

I got this initially with No Game No Life before the LNs started getting translated. I found after a large gap from watching the anime that I got a separate appreciation in the LNs, you just have to be willing to pace yourself. Although Elfen Lied is one of those that I feel like I sold myself short considering the LNs go into a lot more detail and don't end abruptly - still enjoyed it but it sounds like I would have appreciated the LNs even more. Sadly I don't think I am ever going to see it in English officially as they cannot get a publisher over here in the West. In RE; Zero news let us take a moment to appreciate Ram: (Well at least one of us had to do it)... I mean Rem:

So, Lyrical Nanoha Reflection anyone? I feel at this point, I'm basically trying to find things to watch as I pass the months away waiting for the BD releae. Japaan Theatrical release is in 20 days, so BD release will be around January or so.

I finished Girls und Panzer the other day and am currently slowly going through Bleach with a friend who wanted me to try it.
As for my favorite anime series, I'm not sure. Anime in general is something I only started getting into a couple of years ago, so I've likely seen fewer shows than most of the community here. Of what I've seen, my favorites tend to have at least one major issue. Gundam Unicorn would likely take the honor, but I thought it dropped the ball pretty badly with the last episode. When it's in top form, Full Metal Panic is far and away the funniest anime I've seen, but it definitely struggles more on the serious side of things. Mother's Rosario from Sword Art Online is probably my single favorite arc, but the rest of the show sadly lives up to its infamous reputation more often than not. Then there's Blood+, which is easily the least flawed out of the series I've seen, but didn't quite excel enough in any one regard to truly resonate with me.
When it comes to films, it's a tie between Kiki's Delivery Service and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

Well, the question of my favorite anime has now been settled courtesy of a magnificent work that might very well never be dethroned. Legend of the Galactic Heroes is leagues beyond anything else I've seen in the medium and among the very best works of fiction I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

Legends of the Galactic Heroes is without a doubt one of my favourite space operas. Are you referring to the movies, one of the OVA series, or just the IP in general?

The 110 episode main series. Haven't seen any of the prequel material yet, though I'll get to it soon.
I'll probably pass on the new remake, since what little I saw of it made it seem like it's being simplified for the sake of being able to spend more time on flashy action sequences. Plus the character designs are horrid compared to the originals. The OP is great, though.
Fun fact: When I was Photoshopping Alice to make Sola's Sharr uniform (shown in my avatar) for my mod, I settled on the color scheme I did as a way of paying homage to Reinhard's outfit, which is some of the coolest attire I've seen in awhile. Love the white cape, though Mittermeyer's red one is great as well.
