Do you like Ava with an eyepatch? Is it more difficult for her to see the stack of unfinished paperwork on your desk? emoticon_ava2_small

I've no doubt she would focus on the 'To Do' box and ignore the 'Done' box.

didnt kayto call it a bionic eye I'd have to reread it, but I'm thinking Kayto said the Alliance was going to make her a synthetic eye. So I was thinking the eye patch was temporary, but the way things are now maybe not so temporary.

Oh no you don't, you will not divide us. All forms of Ava are created equal. [Unless the bionic eye is some form of powerful relic then you might be able to sway me towards the eye patch]. didnt kayto call it a bionic eye Kayto said the Alliance was going to make her a synthetic eye. So I was thinking the eye patch was temporary, but the way things are now maybe not so temporary. In regards to her cybernetic eye Kayto says that he got his hands on one from the admiral but unfortunately doesn't state if Ava currently has applied. Based on the pace of conversation been around the process of putting Ava back together I'm going to say it has. I've personally been viewing the eye patch as a precaution to allow it to adjust to its host, almost like a calibration period. The fact it hasn't come off by the end of Liberation Day... well now guess we wait and see.

well... I've never gotten Ava with an eyepatch... seriously screw the Legion if one of my crewmembers has to get seriously injured, in order for it to be destroyed...
I still think this decision is going to be a significant change in the later Sunrider titles...

Kayto stated that the bionic eye 'should work even better than your old one' so clearly Ava with the bionic eye will be superior... Maybe I was an idiot but I was under the impression that that 'eyepatch' was actually the bionic eye itself.

I've only ever seen her with the glove and eyepatch. It's the only decision in Sunrider that I think about. There's a part of me which thinks that perhaps, maybe just maybe, keeping the Legion around is a good idea. But we'll see what happens in the next Sunrider title...

I agree that the legion appearing in later Sunrider games would have been a good idea if you didn't have the option to sink it. I think that there may be some backlash if the legion does return, major plot choices shouldn't be made obsolete in sequels.
I see some ideas that could be explored though. In later Sunrider games maybe PACT decides to name another ship the 'legion' you could be given the choice to pursue it on the prince path or ignore it on the moralist path. Sadly, due to where the story seems to be going though, I think this scenario is unlikely.

Maybe I was an idiot but I was under the impression that that 'eyepatch' was actually the bionic eye itself. I also thought of this possibility myself. I figured the two white dots could perhaps be some sort of lenses or maybe sensors or something. It could very well just be an average eyepatch though. Then the question shifts to if Ava has a cybernetic eye under it or not. Its like a Conglomerate Mystery story! I'll get the popcorn!

Kayto stated that the bionic eye 'should work even better than your old one' so clearly Ava with the bionic eye will be superior... You see the problem there is that Kayto isn't the greatest when it comes to technology (bless him) and therefore he doesn't quite understand the requirements around its potential functionality. It relies on pulled data from an Alliance SIM card in order to do anything beyond converting light into electrical signals due to the complex calculations required to stimulate the brain further. At the time Admiral Grey told Kayto to remember to top up the SIM's account with credits as this was an older model that had no wifi capability however the eager Sunrider captain dashed off in order to deliver the eye to the medical bay without paying attention to the instructions. So since Ava's medical bay brief the eye has been stuck in a sort of safe mode (or basic visual functions) with no one the wiser. Oh no you don't, you will not divide us. It could very well be however Sam has yet to confirm details of the bionic eye in his writings beyond Ava can get one based on a player choice in MoA and her model of eye is most likely Alliance manufactured.

I guess Ava must have been too obsessed with the paperwork Kayto failed to complete in her absence to notice the lack of difference in her eyesight. That would be an interesting concept though. Pay some credits to empower Ava's bionic eye to increase the Sunrider's hit rate or something. Sadly, I don't think that that would be implemented as only around half the players would have access to it.

I was thinking more along the lines that the Legion might well be the only damn ship in the galaxy that has the firepower to deal with a time-displaced Ryuvian Warrior Lord with an armada of ancient Ryuvian warships that are capable of shitting on anything the modern galaxy has to offer.

I understood what you were implying but i think making the legion have a major impact of the story wouldn't be the best idea.
I was attempting to come up with alternate ways to reintroduce the legion without overriding a major choice from MoA.
If the legion survived then I guess the legion could be reintroduced in a similar way to how the havoc was. It sides with you for one battle then withdraws. Then you could make a choice to pursue it or not.
Im just stating that saying 'oh the legion didn't really sink' and coming up for a complex explanation for why it should feature in the next sunrider game after you chose to have Ava activate the vanguard feels rather arbitrary. Edit: I just re-read my post and I thought my tone sounded a little accusatory. My apologies that was not my intention.

Sadly, I don't think that that would be implemented as only around half the players would have access to it. I wouldn't write it off the eye having a game play element to it, remember that Havoc is available in the final mission despite it only benefiting players who chose a specific choice.
It's also interesting that the same choice ends with Cosette fleeing while the opposite is that she is dead and looks to not make another appearance. In an ideal environment you treat big choices like these as having both a positive and negative effect.
Alive
Pro - Firepower support in the final mission Con - She has since fled and may be a threat again
Dead
Pro - No longer a threat Con - Loss of an potential ally and any consequences associated with her death
Anywho this is all personal speculation, as you all know Sunrider isn't on the development cards right now. emoticon_ava2_small

That is true, the eye could effect the gameplay in a minor way, it is interesting to speculate what such a mechanic would be though too. I think a purchasable upgrade or command points would be a way it could be implemented. I guess that it would be optimal to make the pros and cons of each choice equal in weight both before and after the decision occurs so there is another aspect to think about while deciding which option to choose. The example you used was a decent example of this and its also interesting to speculate what might occur as a result but that topic is for a different thread. Wait a minute, 'personal speculation', Magpie isn't omniscient?...

Whithout the eye patch, no doubt. But I must admit the scene between her and Kayto in the sickbay could make me cry. And Ava is just fabulous. If I were reincarnated, I would be a Sony's console ( but there isn't any link)

Actually im interested, is this poll is focused on the graphics of the eyepatch/bionic eye, the effects of Ava having a bionic eye or Is this thread based on what happened to the legion and peoples opinions on which option is superior.
I assume the answer is all three at once but I would like to request some clarity.

I assume the answer is all three at once but I would like to request some clarity. When I first made the poll I was mainly thinking if people preferred Ava aesthetically one way or the other, and what effects could come from the eyepatch/bionic eye. However I was fully expecting the thread to spawn conversation about the legion, which choices we all made, and if we're happy with them. So pretty much all three at once.

Oh good, I thought I might have taken the entire thread off topic. Do we have a figure of the amount of crew members for the legion.
The sunrider is about a quarter of the legion's size in all dimentions according to the scale drawing on the wiki. (In addition it has been stated that the legion is 3km long compared to 735m which is 4.08 x larger)
as we also know the size of the sunriders crew is 600-2000. Id estimated the size of the legions crew at 38400-128000. (tell me if there is a huge error in my maths)
This means that destroying the legion could mean killing 1/8 of all the people killed at cera. It could be argued that PACT would continue using the legion to kill other innocents but still this is a large death toll of crew members to keep in mind.

Looks like I'm late to the topic. Aesthetically Eye-patch and glove Ava is way cooler looking, but I couldn't bring myself to risk the love of my life over petty revenge. Revenge is not the jedi way.
In the end the sexual harassment forms seem to suggest that Ava does not share my sentiment on the matter.

I was delayed by paperwork. The love of my life demanded all forms in triplicate.
From what I've read, the Bionic eye is the eyepatch, so the eyepatch is actually just supposed to look cool. I approve.

In the end the sexual harassment forms seem to suggest that Ava does not share my sentiment on the matter. I was seduced by the dark side and only now realize it. In truth when I made the choice I didn't believe Ava would really be killed, but I did want revenge. I don't care for the eye patch though, but then I don't care for body piercings or tattoos either. Don't read to much into the sexual harassment forms, once Kayto points out there is no Cera Command to send the forms to, she admits she was just venting.
