I was looking for decent VN's on the Android playstore and came across another favorite, Ace Academy. So I got to thinking... Is there any chance of Sunrider getting a version on phones/tablets? Obviously it wouldn't come out on the android/apple store because of the *cough* content... I would love a portable version of these games though xD... And like Skyrim, I will buy again! Haha.
Live Long and Plunder! ... Bad guys obviously!? ... I'm no evil pirate! ... I fight for Justice! o.O Sol ^-^/

It's something that could be considered but isn't really on our radar right now, mostly as we don't really have the expertise or time to port it. Dare I ask how many times you've re-brought Skyrim based on its inclusion? You've got that mad twinkle in your eye of someone who owns every version and knows the differences between versions and platforms.

I was only asking to see if LiS would ever consider it someday, and while I would love it if you did port it, I do know that you awesome guys and gals are busy with Starnova ATM. I recently backed £/$30 on Patreon to try and ninja my name into the credits after finding out about it, I'll also be backing any future Sunriders, yay Asaga! I would of backed sooner, but my PC was broken for quite a while, so I've been out of the loop with all things LiS, sorry for not backing sooner. Hahaha! You know, I must actually have a mad twi nkle in my eye or something, my friends say that to me quite often... Or maybe I'm a Sharr of England, even though I'm male and not royalty... or am I? Yeah lets go with that one, shall we? o~O. As for Skyrim, let's just say the only version I DON'T have is the VR version, YET, and I've also bought copies for friends... I like supporting the things I love ahah. I prefer PC version for mods obviously, but I love being able to Skyrim in between real life adventures (working, archery, airsofting) with the Switch version haha xD. ... Also, I have bought multiple copies of Sunrider A+LD ^-^/ showing my love of LiS... Just need a portable and VR version now haha. *Edit* ...Oh yeah, I'm also still waiting for World of Sunrider XXX... What's the ETA on that? Am I gonna be playing Star Citizen before it? I bought all the waifus o.O except Cosette... I stole her like a pirate would.

Unless there are rules in the various major app stores that prevent the sale of censored versions of titles that otherwise have explicit content, there's no reason why the Sunrider games couldn't be tweaked to be suitable for those platforms.
It took all of ten minutes in Photoshop for me to remove the single case of nudity in the Steam version of MoA, and doing the same for Liberation Day wouldn't take much work. The Steam version of Academy has, to my knowledge, only a single minor case of nudity that could easily be edited out.
Of course, that still leaves various cases of blood, some strong language, and around half of Claude's dialogue as questionable content, but at that point it's the difference between M-rated games and AO ones. Heck, Academy could conceivably receive a T rating with a bit more tweaking.
Speaking of making changes to Liberation Day, does anyone know how I could go about editing the CGs that are actually used by the game? All those files are encrypted, and while I know how to extract copies of them, I don't know how I'd go about putting them back in once I've made changes.

Play Store is pretty easy to get an app on, not sure about difficulty of porting it. If you wrote it in electron/node.js should be easy to port with phoneGap (iirc VNMaker is written using node.js/alternative to electron given RPGMaker MV is using node.js, both are using a somewhat dated version though and afaik they have no plans to update the base framework so ymmv with support from them).
My sideproject group did not have fun developing for iOS, we highly hate the dev environment of iOS. I dabbled on Android dev 2 years ago but it's no my main job, my sideproject friends are both android devs though.
The problem with the stores (in both Android/iOS) is they have some min wage folks manually approving apps and stuff that gets allowed in one patch version might be disallowed in another. (You can do workarounds like time-gate features they don't like, release an apk with no images for the reviewer version but works properly once you are 'approved'). There's also BS like Apple disallowing in-app registration so FB's workaround was 'we'll open a webbrowser/view in Apple so the app doesn't have registration' and then Apple banned webviews a while later.
On the Android side you can release an .apk yourself outside of the store (eg Lezhin has their own apk you can download on their site). On iOS you can't do that so easily.
iOS store does anti-competitive BS where they will look for excuses to disallow apps that compete with their core apple apps (if your app is tiny, large players they can't do the BS). Swift programming language also goes through backwards incompatible changes like month and Apple mandates you update your swift language version as well so expect to have to rewrite your codebase every month in apple land (afaik the mobile friends I know at FB tell me they hate Apple).
Android store doesn't have these problems. However there's like a million and one stores beyond just google play. Amazon Fire store, and some specialty app stores in China. The chinese app stores are filled with ad-ware wrapped around legit western apps (eg I tried to find ESFileExplorer on my step-mom's phone and there was one, except it was fake, filled with ads, and definitely not the same es file explorer folks in the west use). Also because android users don't get forced into upgrades all your features require backports (but there's libraries for that).

Thing is, I don't like censorship... So I don't want any of what you just said, hence why I said "Obviously it wouldn't come out on the android/apple store because of the *cough* content..." xD unless there was a way to patch it or two versions, that is. Personally I've never been an IOS user because of BS like that. Aye, gimme .apk through patreon or something... But while that's what I want, releasing on the play store would bring more new people... There just better be a patch if it's censored xD. ... Can you even patch games on the play store from somewhere else? If not, all the more reason to .apk it, could release a free censored demo on the play store with a link to where to buy the full version?

You could, if you gave it the same package name, a higher version number, had the user turn on development mode (which is unsafe from a general user perspective), and made them download an .apk. Keeping track of heads/tails of that is hard, easier to just release a 'separate' apk (what lezhin does). You could also go the route of dynamically downloading data (eg most mobile games do this) instead of packaging it within the app. You'd have to hide that feature from the reviewers though (see the timegate workaround I noted)

Dynamically downloading data is pretty easy actually, probably the best solution.
