Gotta admit, post Lib Day, Icari became absolutely adorable and she shot way up there for me, sharing my personal number 1 spot with Ava. But, post Kayto/Lynn rescue, because Ava was being Ava, and she was really cute during the scene with her choice, Ava's still ahead by a little bit. She got my vote still.

I dunno. I changed my vote from Kryska to Cose-chan, and I think some other new people came in and voted or even changed their votes as well. Either way, the fact that she's less evil than the Alliance now (still more openly vicious) has helped her achieve less of a moral low ground. That's... true. She might even have the moral high ground vs the Alliance right now. They were doing the equivalent of the USA planting a nuclear bomb in Paris when the Soviet Union came to sign a non-aggression treaty. It doesn't MATTER if you "weren't intending to use it." You still put a nuclear weapon in a neutral civilian target during the single most sacred event in a war. That's breaking pretty much all the rules and leads to complete surrender of one side or the other. I'm still not going to vote for her. I don't vote for Loli's for Waifus on principle. |

Honestly after looking through parts of the series again I think I'm going to consider giving Chigara a sympathy vote. She bugged me but she's gone through some awful stuff and I can't see it getting any better.
Feeling empathy for waifus I don't like is terrible. Scorn or indifference is so much easier...

If the sunrider series ever becomes long enough I'd like to have busting Krsyka out of Alliance Prison to be a running joke, like busting Murdock out of whatever institution he was being kept at the time.

I'm not sure if anyone else was in the life pod which landed on Tydaria. Maybe it wasn´t the only life pod from the cargo after it left the orbit. Maybe there are other crew members on the way to Ava´s prepared hideout on Tydaria but landed a little bit separately. Hopefully the cargo captian is trustworthy and don´t spread rumors over some saved crew members with Ryders in the near of Cera´s orbit. And I am not sure if Cosette watched maybe a little bit from distance the outgoing battle with the Alliance and the destruction of the Sunrider which fought her last epic battle in her origin system. Maybe there was a litte bit of interest in some way because Icari and Kryska battled so passionately and with devotion and Asaga and the Sunrider are maybe in some way similar like a friend because of the many battles & memories in some way together & against. And I am not sure which system is her first port of call and where she have maybe some secret pirate bases for supply if you made the decision to destroy her pirate base in Tydaria in Moa. She is after the battle surely out of missiles, damm it! But Tydaria was the system in the neutral Rim where she operates too and where Shield first met her.
So for me it would be some kind of funny to see the scene and the following conversation when a speechless Ava and Asaga return from Ryuvia Prime with a new space ship and see a very protective Sola, an amused Claude and a little bit disinterested Lynn siting at a bonfire in the evening at the hideout where her Captain singing together with Cosette some songs over freedom and glory of the neutral Rim. Oh man that would cause definitely a disciplining after military Cera records and of Course! Lots of paperworks where Ava and Asaga could use the opportunity to come Kayto closer because of explanation^^

New feature to the shipmap: 'Kryska Phone Call' - The player calls Kryska to ask about life within an Alliance prison. Fail to call her enough during the story and you do not end up busting her our of prison.  Another waifu candidate bites the dust.

I think people like her, but she is just not a waifu material (thats what this poll is about). But you are right, I think we will see her character development around Sunrider chapter 8? lol That is my point exactly, though. Although determination is not a bad trait for a waifu, Claude is way beyond that and she's depicted as a very extreme, forceful and perv woman; she's simply too grotesque to be taken seriously, and her role is mostly related to comic relief. What Claude lacks are serious moments, where she can jump out of her usual behaviour and show us something of her personality: something that scares her, something that she holds dear, how far is she willing to push herself to achieve something she desires. And she can be the wounded in need of rescue or the rescuer that saves us from a dire spot, but it's very hard to consider her even an actual character if we are only allowed to see her as a sexaholic clown. Asaga is not that much different from Claude in her everyday personality: she's a strong, rush, sometimes shallow girl, but we are also shown her massive caring side and her struggle over the right choices to take as a queen. If we could only see a bit more of Serious Claude I'm sure that she could easily be considered a more than decent waifu, and I really hope to see her further developed somewhen in the future. |

But I think it will be important in getting Shields in a more stable place emotionally and Sola closer to being properly waifu-able. |

I try to stay out of the romance threads, and really none of them appealed to me in LD, they just seemed defined by Kayto rather than themselves. If I had to pick (admittedly biased by headcannon) for me there would be two choices:
Icari:
Professional respect: She can handle herself and doesn't need to rely on anyone else, she was on her own merit a very skilled bounty hunter/mercenary and I can see her as a professional *equal* and friend to Kayto, which I think most of the others largely miss.
Not part of the crew: She is not part of the chain of command, like ava and sort-of kryska so there is no problem there
Practical outlook: She is willing to do what is needed, not always what is right, and that adds an interesting dynamic to her.
Downsides:
tsundere: She just seems shoehorned into it so strongly it feels like she is token character "x", although I don't know if that's just my view (I don't watch anime and perhaps that's why I don't care for all these really... magnified archetypes)
Lynn:
I strongly dislike Chigara's personality (no small part into her constantly speaking her name, like a 5 year old) but a character who has voices in her head, possibly can be possessed, has a unique perspective of not seeing herself as an individual and a practical, almost spiteful part to her is interesting. The worst thing I can see happening to Sunrider is her reverting to Chigara.
Cunning/Ruthlessness: She manipulates the entire crew, sowing discord to the prototype's ends.
And a 3rd, Cosette, assuming she gets some development (if she is even in the next game, with a possible death route...) She is a bit too much of a sociopath right now, but again she 'could' be a very interesting character.
For the others, they just sort of faded into the background of LD, Chigara actually repels me mentally, Kryska I can respect but not see anything with, Ava would be too convoluted as she is part of the command, Claude just seems to be just... there and Asaga was a great letdown from compared to FA and MoA.
