Pretty sure that you're not alone on this one, I know many people who are turned off by obvious character archetypes. As a Icari supporter myself and seing her portrayal in LibDay I'd 100% agree on the "too forced towards that trope" assessment.
Character (archetypes) tropes are normally supposed to serve as a foundation or frame, therefore it's important for a character to bring along additional attributes, backstory, room for character development etc. Otherwise we end up with a really blank and shallow hull of a character. There was not much time invested, or particularly much thought given on her character in LibDay so we ended up with what I'd call a "soulless" tsundere - sadly a step backwards compared to previous games.
Another thing I disliked was her going full "dere" on us near the end, where she was constantly crying around. Far too much for someone who's considered tsun by default. Am i the only one who sees a parallelism between opening a 'sweet, cute' bakery and a 'sweet, cute' cat cafee. God damn... if Icari becomes to much like the girl I hate most of the entire cast... I may have to turn my back on her...
It wouldn't even be betrayal by me, but her betraying us, since our empress would basically dethrone herself by breaking the tsun codex.
P.S. Showing a little dere is fine, just don't overdo it. #Free_Icari_from_pink_cotton_candy_cuteness_syndrome.
The new Icari-tsun slogan: - One dere girl ruined the story already, is there need for another one? -
