Hold up. Why were people including events in Academy as influence in voting here? Does Academy actually influence this Sunrider universe at all? *never played Academy* Not really however it is the closest we have to a school environment with the Sunrider cast, the writing generally suits the cast for something that could have happened. Saying that I'm not really too much of a fan of time manager gameplay in general so I was basically skipping through Academy for the character narrations. |

However, to add to what Nemjen said, Sola's route is kinda canon in a strange alternate dimensions way. I suppose that was the first hint that Sunrider would delve in time-travel/dimension hopping shenanigans. |

Crow Harbor's appearance via time-travel at the end of LibDay's V1.00 foreshadowed this well before the 2.00 content was released. In turn, this was also something Academy foreshadowed in it's very first moments where Academy Kayto was playing a Sunrider-esque game with Crow appearing as the villain. |

I meant that Crow's returning at all in 1.00, with it explicitly stated he was hunting another time traveler, kinda pointed to that. He was known as Sola's enemy since FA and Academy connected "The Traveler" to whatever happened to Sola - it'd be hard to imagine his return and whatever temporal shenanigans it involves connecting to anyone else besides Sola, the "Traveler" or both.
The entire route referenced how Sola's existence was an aberrant to their timeline - it felt of "Doctor Who" vibes regarding timelines potentially collapsing just by the jargon that Academy Chigara gave out. Taking that in with how the Traveler intervened to stabilize the Academy Sola's existence, I personally think it was obvious the Traveler would eventually end up interacting with the main Sola at some point. And between the mannerisms in the Traveler's speech, how she was observed by Kayto to be a girl and the way she commented on Kayto's attractiveness, IDK (personally) how it could be seen as anyone else but Claude.
Now yes, this is my own opinion, but I didn't really feel this (Claude as the Traveler coming to correct timeline issues) was something that would have been that big a shocker had it not been shown in V2.00. |

Yes, in that Sola's route helps set up the time travel alternative universe space wiggles. Apparently Claude fucked up when moving Sola to the future and deposited a bunch of Sola's everywhere, greatly adding to the awesomeness of the multiverse. No, in that all the characters are alternative "what if" cases that have little baring on the main story. HOWEVER, one could argue that the character interactions, relationships, and motivations in Academy are going to be largely the same as the ones in Lib Day as well as the main series. Obviously it's not perfect because of the general increase in tragedy and combat. But Academy characters tend to stay true to the main series, so let Academy color my perceptions. Somewhat. Also, people can vote any way they damned well please. Example, I dislike the Chigara route of Academy. I dislike Chigara IN the Chigara route. Chigara is rated at the very bottom of "knightoblivion's waifu list" behind even Comic/Cosmic God Claude. This is partly due to MoA, partly Academy, partly because Ava is the one true waifu and instead Chigara was the romance. Finally, Ava has again reclaimed her position in the forefront of all waifus. This can ONLY be a good thing, signalling a step in the right direction for the fandom. |

As expected, Ava leads with an overwhelming majority. Now I'm considering switching my vote to Icari since a loss of one vote or two wouldn't affect Ava's massive superiority. Besides, Icari's the Head of State, and Mother of the People, also deserving of the top ranks, as is owed to her. Still, Ava's THE one true waifu, so she'll always stay on top.

With the exception of Cosette there are no big surprises here and Chigara is for obvious reasons doing a lot worse than usual, but other than that it seems rather accurate. Ava + Sola in the lead, followed by Asaga, the unexpected wildcard Cosette and our dear empress herself. wingcapt4 Tsss... Ava can't hold a candle to Icari, someday you'll understand. Icari = best waifu + best community. |

I will have to agree with some of the older posts made about two pages back. Icari was a pretty good character I thought back in FA and MoA, but she definitely suffered in her appearance in LibDay.
Kryska and Asaga seemed to get the best parts of the writing and character development for the 1.0 portion of the game. While Claude, Chigara, Lynn, and Sola got some really good lines and development in the 2.0 expansion. Ava has already been well developed by this point, and the med-bay scene with her if you destroyed the legion was particularly well done.
However, Icari seems to have severely lapsed into a cut-and-past Tsundere. At the very least it wasn't the 'super-bitchy' form of a tsundere who also has a tendency to physically harm Kayto at any provocation. Even still I felt that she was much less interesting and had become woefully predictable with many interactions ending in her getting overly flustered for silly reasons. Before I felt that she was one of the most levelheaded members of the cast, was able to hold her own and keep her cool in many situations, and was able to be very sociable with the other characters and was able to read them all fairly well. Her backstory is also pretty interesting and still hasn't been fully tied up yet, as her parents' killer has still not yet made an appearance. Not to mention there are still probably plenty of interesting stories from her mercenary days and plenty of colorful characters that she has had to deal with in her past, like her possible black market contacts.
And while I do enjoy her friendship with Kryska, and I do enjoy the dynamic between the two in many of their conversations, I still feel that they could each be fleshed out a bit more as their own separate characters. Throughout most of Libday, it almost felt like they were Siamese twins, with many of their scenes ending in Icari getting flustered over her friendship with Kryska.
Either way, I hope it didn't sound like I was unjustifiably bashing Icari, I was just trying to voice my reasons as to why she felt sub-par in this edition of Sunrider; as well as provide some constructive criticism so that she may become even better than she already is.
PS: To those of you posting fan art of your favorite waifus in this thread, why don't you guys make new threads in the Fan Art section and fill it up with many glorious pictures. The art section is still pitifully small and any and all additions would be greatly appreciated by all!
